The Truth

Dude with a pirate knub for a leg says he’s going to ride the storm out in his sail boat and that if his boat goes down then he can swim :dead:

As crazy as it sounds, it’s out of context.

He’s homeless really, with only his boat to live in. As well as being disabled, no car, no money (despite what homie said about a go fund me), so he really doesnt have much of an option.

Still crazy though, but with context its like “oh ok….”

I went through Katrina in Florida… it’s amazing how stupid people will become in a crisis.

But in his case… :yeshrug:. I would say he needs to stay away from the pier because water/boats will also be moving in that kind of wind. He said he rode through Helene and willing to risk it. In the Navy, for storms/Tsunamis/etc., boats would just leave the harbors and ride it out in the ocean. But those are ships, not a dingy like dude got.

Good luck, I guess we’ll know if he made it during the aftermath

Hey guys, my sister-in-law and my niece and nephew live in Sanford. They refuse to leave. I'm so worried, but she got really snippy with me when I asked her about evacauting. Does anyone live near there or in Florida know if it's supposed to hit Orlando or the Sanford area? Maybe I'm worried for nothing but I just hate how nonchalant she's being about this.

Sanford is way inland. It is north and east of Orlando. I have relatives that live around Orlando. They should be fine.

I live in the Orlando area in Altamonte so I’m about 15-20 minutes from Sanford. Your folks should be “fine”. Central Florida area is expected to resume as normal come Friday. My thing is, if there’s a significant power outage, that’s gonna slow things down considerably. So they definitely need to prepare for that if they haven’t already. The worst we’re expecting is high winds and flooding but not at the same level as the coastal cities.
