was unaware that the ukraine war took place with a republican as presidentA lot of these Florida MAGA voters were laughing at countries like Ukraine, etc. asking for humanitarian aid. Now they are the ones in need and none of the richest people in America are rushing to help them out there, while bunch of politicians are playing games to help their campaign. Welcome to reality, where the richest part of America don't give a fukk about lower class citizens and they will continue voting for republicans in Florida who want to make that wealth gap even bigger.
My job said business as usual until thursdayholy shyt. theres no floridians here that are trying to ride this shyt out are there?
looking at the map and their ass right off the bay. not to mention the town got a bunch of waterways in it. every house looks to have water in the backyard. every house looks to have a boat dock. so that water bout to have all the streets flooded if it hits.
whats gonna be interesting is where the storm comes thru cuz the southern part would be the worse due to the counterclockwise movement. All that water being pushed from the 6 to 3 zone towards the land since 3 to 12 one would be pushing out. But problem is that Tampa area isn't a straight coast. so while the water being pushed in the direction the storm is going will hit land, the areas on the other side of the bay will get the water pushed as the storm rotates that way. Their best bet is it moving north and only getting hit by one side but even still that southern part of the storm what gonna have them messed up.
The history of Apollo Beach started in 1923 on land owned by the dikkman family, then used annually for farming and grazing pasture. Much of the land was mangrove and low-elevation and was considered uninhabitable.
In the 1930s, Paul dikkman conceived the idea of a waterfront community. He felt the location was ideally located equidistant between Tampa and Bradenton along U.S. Route 41.
The dikkmans secured the services of Radar Engineering of Miami to design a subdivision including roads, canals, schools, recreation areas, and community services.
In the early 1950s, dikkman negotiated the sale of the land to three men from New York: Turner, Dean and Clark. They named the land "Tampa Beach", believing the association with Tampa would attract interested persons more readily than a name which did not properly locate the area geographically.
