But Jay doesnt have teams of writers specifically hired to write whole songs hooks verse for Jay and Jay is not taking their best tracks to use on his own.. Thats the difference. Its not the same thing.

im positive drake writes songs cause he ghosts for others, but yall being unrealistic thinking these guys can tour 24/7 and make appearance after appearance but still have time to write all these songs. writing pools is a music thing period and if drake takes a few songs I aint mad, long as the music good.

PLENTY of our favorite songs were written by someone else but tailored to a certain artists style so when they drop their vox on the track its perfect. You know what the funny thing is my BK Brethren? Prior to all the Meek Mill shyt, I used to joke about it because it was funny to see his stans get all emotional and shyt. Sometimes I used to be trolling them while listening to his music.

If you think anyone in the game writes 100% of their bars, especially for songs that are purely written to be singles, you are seriously deluding yourself.
Hip hop is differwmt because the mc the rapper is at the forefront of the music and the main representative of the culture. I used to rap we prided ourselves on spitting our own lyrics writing 9ur own lyrics no biting no ghostwriting...why do you think a freestyle is a freestyle? Cause it displays the power of the mc as an mc. To be able to craft rhymes at the top of the domw on the spot. Weve criticized rappers weve respected for spitting lyrics in hip hop freestyles that were written. What makes you think we're gonna give Drake a pass when he's done worse in that regard than other rappers?
This is why i say Drake is bad for hip hop. He's emboldening hip hop tourists and pop fans to think they actually have a say in the culture and on an artform. When you were never invested enough in the culture or the art to realize there are principles to being an mc and a rapper. And then you try to twist and mold the art and the culture to your own whims and desires so it resembles something you can relate to causw you've been on thw outside looking in the whole time.
The fact the extreme Drake stans are still trying to push this reasoning onto those who realize what he's doing and who arent afraid to call it out in order to shut them up are proof that hip hop has been dead.
