Shyt won't change til Silver gone

Teams not practicing is the dumbest shyt ever
Silver is nothing more than a figurehead who answers to the bottom line.

I hate to break it to you, but no matter who the commissioner is, and no matter what state you think the league is in, it's never going back to the good ole days.

I'm talking bout the 80s and mid 90s did you even watch the video

Everybody know Bron got the most pts coming straight HS nikka

He had a 3-4 year head start and started straight out the gate he should lead most stats :gucci:

you mean the video after our discussion that was unrelated to the discussion I was having originally with @Yagirlcheatinonus :patrice:

Clogged lane or not…. A lot of that video guys was still in the proximity of the guy they was guarding or some cases watching Glen get his 1v1 work on

he wasn’t the only to come out of HS though. he wasn’t the first or the last, he was just the best:manny:

Probably not how it was but if star players keep getting these serious injuries. Something will have to change

The Arsenal
part of it when you're paying max/super max money to players, they're gonna be handled with more care.

Secondly, Anthony Davis is a walking breathing example of waiting for the other shoe to drop and it usually does, so any time you can take him off the floor is a win for these teams. Dallas was so close to forfeiting games because they didn't have 8 healthy bodies. It's a multitude of the things, from ownership down to the sneakers these players wear.
yup the handled with more care comment reminds me of the old saying about banks and debt.

"If you owe the bank $100 that's your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem."

these owners aren't trying to see their huge investments break down. when the contract is low and non-guaranteed any injury is the player's problem. when it's huge and fully guaranteed any injury is the owner's problem.

The physical demand to play the game is much higher than it's been in the past. Just look at all the miles players have to run, particularly on defense.
Back in the day, all the actions happened within the arc, and players were more or less a stone's throw away from one another, so they didn't need to scramble to contest a shot from 3.

The NBA been playing the 82 game format since the 1967-68 season. I used Karl Malone to show athletes were more conditioned and played. You also had guys like John Stockton and AC Green. Dudes played more won’t all this load management to be lazy and stretch your career.

How many 82 game seasons did Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill play since you want to be obtuse?

GMs always looked at nba players as investments. The contracts are bigger it’s more at stake i understand. If they had a model in place for the players regiment why change that? I’m not saying any era is better there has always been drugs, women, partying etc. He’ll MJ used to smoke cigars before the games. Their conditioning and toughness still made them sustain and play more the quality of the league was better. When you paid money to go to an nba all star game you saw the best battle it out. It’s not really like that now. They look at them as possessions and not people.

This isn't talked about much. The other part of it is that players are load managing more so they can extend their career so they can collect more contract money in their late 30s/40s

As a team owner and organization, if I’m investing 100+ million+ in my star player I’m giving them strategic rest days in order maximize their capabilities to be healthy for a postseason run

It’s in my best interest to protect my investment. Those older players probably would have added some years to their NBA lives if they did the same

This narrative that guys back in the day were more conditioned is hilarious to me tho. No the hell they weren’t

Its unreal to me how owners/management is scapegoated

They are the reasons players rest. shyt if im a player i would chill too
If my boss tell me too

AD literally had to force The Mavs not to shut him down

Its not the fukking players its the organizations
This shyt all started with the Spurs. It was all fun and games when nikkas was "Out-Old". They started the holding players out of marquee matchups trend. They were winning and the model framchise so others follow suit. Its amazing how people forget this and put everything on the players. Magic and Michael and whoever else would be sitting if they played today as well.

You owe a guy 300 Ms over the next 5 years. He is gonna get that money as long as he doesn't die or retire. Who is more invested in him getting him through that deal healthy?
