For a control-the-clock offense like Shanahan's, this type of run D is unacceptable. Wilks couldn't get the defense off the damn field on 3rd downs all season long. His own players (and not just Bosa) were calling him out earlier in the season.

If we lost to GB or Detroit i could understand firing Wilks.

But lets look at this in context, in regulation we held the chiefs to 12 points on drives thst did not result in a special teams gaffee. Thats pretty damn good. I can make an argument that our defense was our best unit in the SB. That includes ST & Offense. In OT these dudes are dead tired and thats Pat Mahomes on the other side. I would have given Wilks another year atleast. But this is now 100% on Kyle. No more excuses no more second chances. We fukk up again next year and he should be gone.

I was agreeing with @jwonder that it WASN'T racially motivated. Been saying Wilks would be the scapegoat if we lost. He's been throwing Wilks under the bus all season. But no accountability for himself. The offensive genius has been outscored 29-74 in the second half of the 3 Superbowls he's called plays for.

Watching the Niners playoff games. Yes, they gave up a lot of points in the first half but Wilks made adjustments and handle their business in the second half. SB they clearly control the game until Greenlaw got hurt. Niners brehs saw their team the whole season, so whatever. But I going what I saw in the playoffs, I think Wilks should got another year.
