Speaking of accents...

For my Haitian family...

Another thing amazing about the presentation and storytelling are the little details and historical research the devs put behind them.

Like them mentioning Papa Doc Duvalier and the whole Haitian immigration process when the documentary was going over the Haitians. They gave a backdrop why the Haitian "gang" was formed there.

when Cassandra was going off on Baka's dead body and screaming "guete kocohn!" I was like:gladbron: :russ::mjlol: The devs studied up on their Creole curse words.

when one one of the guards started singing Dodo Titit, a lullaby only Haitians would know I was genuinely impressed:ehh: They probably got that idea from one of their Haitian VAs.

But am I the only one who noticed Cassandra having 2 different accents? :patrice:

The first time we see her she has a clear FOB accent. (albeit not the most flawless Haitian accent. But not the worst I've ever heard...)

Then when we get to her place she sounds like a straight up born and raised Southern Belle . :dwillhuh: Is this intentional? That's some hardcore code-switching. Is it even the same VA? I'm trying to figure this out.

I heard she's

not a real Hatian[/spoiler[

You get a suit but just for one mission...:smh:
Mafia 2 let you change clothes but apparently 3 can't handle that...:stopitslime:

That and the way Lincoln shouts in the streets to have a vehicle delivered to him is so fukking stupid and breaks immersion...Like these fools wanted to make a mobile phone and realized later on mobile phones didn't exit in 1968...Why not require us to use a pay phone for that...There are phones all over the city both on the streets and interiors but we can't use them...Lazy ass developers...:francis:

They are adding in outfits as DLC. Part of the season pass. They figured people wouldn't miss it since Mafia 2 didn't have a wide assortment of clothing to choose from. It didn't :yeshrug:

These outfits will actually be different, not just two different trench coats, shirts, etc. Most of the things in Mafia 2 were just window dressing. You only used phones to call certain people at certain times. I'm not going to run to a phone booth every time I want my car or the gun van.

He's suppose to be speaking to a walkie talkie but they didn't bother adding an animation in

He wears an earpiece in his right ear. You only see it in cutscenes though :patrice:

Cassandra is voice by Erica Tazel, who played Rachel, a U.S Marshall on Justified :myman:

Used her likeness too :takedat:

I love the setting, story, strong characters, soundtrack. But the gameplay is beyond wack. Shooting is not satisfying nor challenging. Same goes for the AI. Just bad. Im playing in hard with no aim assist and still dropping enemies with ease. Enemies just stagger around like drunks before diving into to cover, shooting, popping out and staggering again towards you like zombies. Mission structure is just go here and kill set group of enemies. Go there kill enemies. Racket boss is available. Kill or recruit him. And for the people who says the graphics are good, you either don't play many games or you need eye surgery. Pretenderd cut scenes are great with excellent motion facial scan. But the in game graphics are ugly like I said previously. Weather effects are trash(that rain :scust: looks like a shower head is on) The lighting is bad. Makes everything look washed out and brown. Draw distance and pop up everywhere. Car models and especially collision damage physics are a joke(driving is pretty solid esp on simulation) If combine the story/characters of the mafia games with the gameplay mechanics of GTA/Sleeping dogs you would have he GOAT open world title.
yea in game graphics pretty butt cheeks i dont know how they cant have good graphics like GTAV

Man...:whew::wow:

This game's story alone could bring this game to GOTY. It's already on its way for me.

I just played this close to 5 hours and I think I JUST finished playing the entire prologue. it's crazy how this plot sucks you in.

Also no crashes or crazy bugs or anything game-breaking.

Put this game on hard difficulty and simulation driving and it's as realistic as it can get.
All these people hoping this game fails out of tryhard cyncism when this game is running perfect for me on the PS4. :mjlol:

All you PC clowns need to quit whining.

Despite you already knowing it's the the entire basis for the plot, and despite it being seen in previous trailers for the game, seeing Lincoln and his fam get betrayed STILL was some crazy shyt. That's how powerful the acting and cinematic presentation is in this game. I felt a kinship with Clay in wanting to get back at those cacs.
wait the prologue is 5 hours ? :damn:

Yeah, i get that. I guess where i was coming from its that if the character is getting called out his name during a cut scene or maybe a shoot out or two to add emphasis, that's reasonable. It just seems like it would start wearing thin if it's being thrown at you left and right gratuitously just because the publisher thinks they're being edgy.
its funny cuz they said they wanted to go super hard with the N word but they scaled back...but hey yall want real games right ? :mjpls:
