Recapping Bob Benson:

  • Ingratiated himself with the two most marginalized upper-players in management, Joan and Pete (both don't get respect and he's an expert in faking respect for people)

  • His "false self" becoming more accepted by those two helps him get on the radar and become more accepted as a part of the agency by management

  • Flips that into becoming an account man by taking the initiative to form a relationship with one of the people at Chevy. Later flipped that into being the sole man Chevy has a relationship with after an accident to Ken leads to Pete being the head account man. Pete then tries to out-maneuver Bob and takes his L as expected

  • Past was found out by Pete but because he's made himself integral to Chevy and is liked by other management, Pete can't do shyt since he'll get blowback because he has less leverage and respect from management

  • Possibly ordered the death of Pete's mom by his accomplice after Pete tried to fukk with him

  • Marginalized Roger from using his power over him because he holds Joan in high esteem so by Bob becoming her friend and confidant if Roger attacks him it will be attacking her too.

With Don gone and Ted & Pete out of the picture in New York, I could see him becoming the main accounts man since he's new blood in a stale environment, has leverage being the main man with Chevy, and Cutler, Joan, and Bert Cooper like him while Roger won't do shyt since he was outmaneuvered by him with Joan.

Dude did it all in a damn year too :whew:

Breh, Bob is no joke.

Although really, he's just following in Don's footsteps. His rise to power rivals Don's.

I swear the characters are so similar just to troll us.

-don has been totally stripped down. the obvious question is why would he let people know now, but after the sonnings he's endured all season, it looks like he just reached his point. everybody has one. it took sally to break him all the way down. she burned that nikka soul.

-bob, star of the show. had pete's mom offed. manolo married her, so he prolly gonna gets some gwap off the deal and boxed pete out in the paint for chevy. wasnt just dumb luck that he knew pete couldnt drive. the guy is so demonic w/ his setup game, brehs. looked right at roger, agreed with him to leave joan alone and there he is cuttin that bird on turkey day. just a week ago, all he wanted was a head start to get out of there, now he's bossin up. greatest comeback, second to pac.

-pete keepin pace w/ don for Ls this season. trudy gonna take him back. dunno how theyre gonna do it w/ him moving west, but that loving look was real and included for a reason.

-ted is such a sucker, but atleast he knows it and more importantly is doing something about it. don woke him up, last week.

-peggy is a herb. lets hope she gets her twisted shyt together w/ her move up to creative dir. i guess it just shows how women were unsure of what role to play when they were given more and more responsibility in the workplace at that time.

-roger smoked a cigg in 20 seconds. most impressive thing he's done all season.

-best thing about don not going west is we get to keep dawn. :blessed:

-duck back, greatest comeback 3rd to bob.

overall, it was a letdown of an episode after a great season. i didnt like the way they seemingly used don's coming clean then renigging on california as a way to get out of having it out w/ meagan.

black kid at the end muggin from the porch. :boss:

You thought it was a bad episode? Strange, I thought it was a fitting finale. Weiner never goes OTT with the action in his endings, I always feel the Mad Men seasons end in a good place. I wonder where the show will pick up next season.

It was a good episode for TV but kinda poor for Mad Men to be honest. The last 10 or so minutes felt crammed as fukk. They could have easily done a 90 minute to 2 hour episode that was paced better. Doesn't diminish the fact that this was probably its best season to me.

Draper is so good at his Job, because he's a good actor. The moment that dude wakes up, it's all a lie in his head. Every fukking corner, elevator ride, hides fear and that oh shyt, maybe this is the moment I get busted. So his life a mastery of being the amazing chameleon he is. This dude thinks on his toes quick... When the real Draper dies, the wheels in his head started scheming instantly. Who the fukk thinks that way in such a hectic moment? But we see where it all comes from. His child hood was no where near normal. All types of weird as hangups, and insecurities is haunting this guy. So being a chameleon is almost a defense mechanism, cause he never wants to be that kid again.

That weight of Truth only gets heavier the deeper you go with it...It's rippin his life apart, and dude is now unraveling at work. He can't possibly be fired though? Can he?

not when your a partner. They can buy his ass out though.

I peeped it from day one...he's the new Draper :wow:

Meanwhile Old Draper went back to the old hood to show his kids where he's really from, leaving Bobby still wondering: "Are we negroes...?" :lupe:

whoever casted Bob needs a raise...that nikka has a face you wanna punch over n over. He killed his role this season.

The finale was great, Mad Men just makes you go :wow: at the writing and execution...shyt is flawless at times.

I love the shot of peggy in the chair mimicking the intro...she's coming for the throne next season.

Don is now at an all time low...can;t wait to see how he will bounce back or continue sinking. We all thought he was going to be winning this season after last years finale, but nope.

I hope this continues for 3-4 more seasons.

GOD DAMMIT!!!!

I remember them saying they wanted to end the show in the present. I wonder if they will start next season in 2013/14 or lead up to it throught each episode and do it in the finale..
