i would argue that harlem world is a classic
got classic singles with 24 hours to live, feel so good, tell me what you want, lookin' at me, and album cuts that won't singles like the player way, do u wanna get $, take what's yours, nikkaz wanna act, wanna hurt ma$e, cheat on you etc etc
he got classic features from 112 records to brandy, mariah's honey remix, brian mcknight and then his features on the puff daddy and the family singles too!

his run was short but ma$e was just gettin' started
He was cool in 97-98, but that lil run ain't enough to erase all the snake moves and wack shyt he released since then

I'll take studio gangster Drake over Pastor/Murda Mase any day lol

The pressure got to mase. He was the scottie pippen to B.I.G's jordan in that 94-95 season. You gotta remember his peers were going at his neck relentlessly. Dude had ghostface, jay, cam, jim jones, and harlem goons coming at him.

Mase made his mark in that era where artists were regulating the rap game. I don't think he would've reached his full potential because that era was too strict for an artist like him

Ghostface and Jay? What's the story behind that

now don't get me wrong, i liked the album back when it came out, but it was as watered down bubblegum rap as it got back then. it was great for what it was, but far from a classic.

it's a fact Drake took parts of Mase's style like Fabolous did. he even took his own lyrics on his Worst Behavior track. Mase is an originator of the flashy, braggadocious style. he birthed alot of these guys who went on to rap about the same thing.

yes and no....

MASE did influence alot of the post 2000 cats such as Fabolous , Drake and others

but real talk it was LL COOL J who birthed that style

of being able to sweetalk the ladies at the same time being able to be a beast on the mic with the dudes and gettin money at the same time

"some girls like this jam...but some girls won't ...CAUSE I MAKE ALOT OF MONEY AND THIER BOYFRIEND DONT!!"

"so all u crabby looking nappy headed girls get back
cause thier is a ten to one chance that you might get smacked!"

"some sukkas dont like me ...but im not concerned
six g's for twenty minutes is the pay i earn!" :manny:

even subliminally dissed legends!!:

"so all u jerry curled suckas wearing high heeled boots
like ballerina what i mean is your a fruit loop troupe" (grandmaster flash and the furious 5)

and directly!!:

"I'm growing and flowing like a forest blaze
do you like michael jackson??!?!? :why:
NO!!!..we like COOL J!!" :russ:

and "battle ready" just like MASE and DRAKE...

we all know MASE had no fear of JAY Z nor CAMRON when they came at him

same with LL ....... "what the fukk i thought i conqured the world..crush MOE DEE...HAMMER and ICE T. CURLS!!!" :lolbron:

LADIES LOVE COOL J was his moniker and just like MASE and DRAKE he hung associated himself with street cats as well while in the prime of his rap career

and yes they HATED LL too.....not as much as Drake...but during the height of the afrocentric era...he got booed in plenty of venues such as his appearnce at a rally in harlem against police brutatlity cause of his shallow arrogant deamonor

and ARROGANCE was his middle name :russ:

like the time when they shot at him in atlanta while he was laughing with the window open sticking out his tongue in the limo while he was taunting cats outside the OMNI the former home of the HAWKS after he finessed the promoter and fans out of thier money......

yeah LL was that arrogant couldn't do wrong dude......mase always refrenced him as being an influence

shallow....self indulgant..arrogant fukk on the mic and the streets

@The HONORABLE SKJ

check out this article i just found and read around the time of his retirement

they mention tia and tamara mowry who helped convert ma$e at his video shoot for harlem world's "i like it" video :dwillhuh::ohhh:
AMAZING MASE RAPPER TELLS WHY HE GAVE UP MUSIC TO FOLLOW GOD

:manny: that article basically confirms what i said

yup and just like i stated..it was a business decision made to look like a "spiritual obligation" ...yeah right..that boy ain't want that LOX debt :russ:

*Neither Ma$e nor Robinson would comment on the rapper's contractual obligations to Bad Boy Records, which signed the artist to a multi-album deal in 1996. Standard contracts usually call for artists to record at least six to eight albums. "Double Up" is Ma$e's second. Robinson said that if Ma$e ever records again, he still would be "obligated to make records with Bad Boy.

and his HARLEM WORLD imprint flopped...... :manny:

*Ma$e fueled speculation of a rift with Combs last year, when he partnered with a Combs rival So So Def Records to create his own rap label, Harlem World Records. But Mase insisted that there was nothing sinister about his retirement from the music business. ...yeah right :shaq:

yeah JESUS saves alright...in the form of two redbone twins showing up at your video shoot and some "game" being shown to you by CREFLO DOLLAR who balls harder than any rapper..... :francis:

i rest my case

all you gotta do is show em' this album cover @The HONORABLE SKJ

this album cover set the tone for almost EVERYTHING hip hop would become as a cliche

the women, the gold chains, the champagne, the cars etc etc

(and yeah, you right on the money. some nikkas was hatin' ll too because he was cocky, the ladies loved him and he had talent and hung with street cats like az, rich and alpo)

this is THE BLUEPRINT!

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
There's giving someone genuine credit, and then there's sucking another man's dikk. Given your response, you seem to fall in the latter.
exactly what I mean. if a nikka ain't dogging him out on here you sucking his dikk, ain't no middle ground. stop that gay shyt too my nikka it's unbecoming
