One of my top 3 favorite rappers of all time.:manny:

Flow so effortless and bars so nice.:takedat:

Nikka oozed charisma.:whew:

OP Mase along with that bad boy machine behind him he would've been the man.:wow:

Early 2000s he would've owned the clubs like ja rule/nelly:ehh:

Mase is clearly the modern template for cats like Drake, Fab,Big Sean etc...

Mase though would have never had the career of Drake simply because Mase while appealing to the black and latin fanbase-chicks (im talking PR and DR chicks from the East Coast POV), Drake is on another level because even white chicks love him. I don't remember Mase being hot with white chicks. I think I remember white chicks talking about Puff more than Mase lol.

:why:

dude it's all about HIT RECORDS.........if you tellin women what they like to hear....YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE A STAR

And hoes weren't and still aren't concerned about REGIONAL ORGIN.....As long as the shyt banging in the club and they could shake they azz to it

you could be from fukking IDAHO and they still will rock with you ...regardless how piss colored or charchol flamed blackened you might be

Women are the taste makers in the rap game it's been like tht since the early 90s

so i don't see why Drake would have a hard time....considering he can "vocalize" (sing) too....

he is an A&Rs dream ...when i first started managing acts i always hoped to find a cat who can sing his own hooks.....

and no i ain't no OVO cat...nor am i in the industry any longer...last time i actually worked in music was 2014 and that was from a media standpoint

im just calling things the way it is :manny:

both of them were smooth with the ladies. but in my experience mase had more appeal, I knew of women who loved his voice, and his features (his waves, lips, eyes, smile) he was pretty much the definition of "that" nikka during that time. Drake might be considered that nikka of this time. Women loved LL at that time and mase was a close runner up this was back when having posters on the wall was still a thing. Drake while talented in this era isn't really a poster artist. While talented and managable he lacks the natural swag and fluidity of most nikkas. If you werent oozing with natural swag and then you werent one of them dance nikkas (sisqo) or a thug/ruff edges/rough ties- or a combination of the 2 the demand just might not have been there. nelly had the natural swag plus rough edge/ties (i wont say thug or gangster but the streetsweeper wasnt a broom), Girls even loved Ja and he has crossover hits with ashanti and such, pac.

mase was good looking and flashed money, oozed swag naturally. drake :ld:

but then again you absolutely cannot move people from different eras around. rakim coming out right now is vastly different from then (mainly because he might have fathered a lot of these cats) Ross/Future coming out in 91' Eazy- E in 07....it just doesnt work, it doesnt correlate.

drake is having a good run theres no denying that. mase did his barry sanders thing (sort of) but he had a good run too. (no pun intended)

Ma$e could NEVER obtain the fanbase nor achieve the status that DRAKE has maintained so consistently over the past 5 years

Mase NEVER was acknowledged by the POP WORLD he wasnt n thier radar

White Folks didnt even know his name..he was Puffs sidekick to them

His HOOK game doesnt even come close to DRAKE

His subject matter revolved mostly around being a fly guy crack dealer

Hell even when he was in a collective "CHILDREN OF THE CORN" he was probally the weakest link next to Camron

The boy made hot club hits but chart wise he aint fukking wit Drake

His flow was teased as being borderline retard very slow rather basic

and for the record...MASE had ghostwriters too...they just ain't as dope as DRAKE's
:lolbron:

You guys are so passionate with your hate for Drake that u say some outlandish things

Mase went like 4x plat first album .he was definitely acknowledged mainstream wise. He was dropping more songs that were on radio than anyone at the time.

Mase remains one of the most overrated acts in rap history

He gets credit for being a soft pretty boy before everyone started doing that, but he has no catalog or classics (except maybe that Total joint), run shorter than leprechauns :yeshrug:

Im glad u mentioned NELLY

yeah NELLY is in this lane too...only thing he lacks is that AZZHOLE factor that MASE..LL and Drake all got

Nelly is basically a good humble country dude

But ironically he has the same ingredient that made MASE who he is

And also infuenced CAMRON

and thats the legendary "manager" CUDDA LOVE who was good at "image molding" and also grew up during the LL era as well...

i wouldn't be suprised if CUDDA consulted DRAKE on a few things as well :manny:

Seen here in this pic:
Cudda_Love.jpg

also NELLY did have strong 'street asssociations" just like MASE and LL.....

Alot of people don't realize or are aware...NELLY is probally the first artist outside the BAD BOY camp to embrace BIG MEECH

when it was BMF that was supplying "strippers" for his trip drill video and parties in ST. LOUIS where the BMF main hub was located before the move to ATL...

Ghostface and Jay? What's the story behind that

Ghostface and rae were arguably two of the biggest opps of the jiggy and south era. Borderline haters mane. Ghost would mock mase's rapping style. Supposedly a wu affiliate rocked dude's jaw. With Jay I saw it as methodically taking out certain dudes on his rise to the top. They had a dope lil back and forth battle for a minute

Youngins prolly will never understand how big duke really was a for hot minute

ma$e use to be that nikka and the youngsters have no idea! :mjcry:
Been saying this for years... If you didn't witness "mixtape Mase" and the Bad Boy era, you'd never believe how much of an impact he made back then...
