It really wasn't, though. Especially in comparison to Royce. I was shocked at just how well lupe could make a palatable diss song, that could outside his hardcore base.
Royce went off, but in comparison, he took a huge L and is looking shook.
It's funny how quick some of ya'll are arguing song crafting and this and that with this beef but don't hold the same standards with drake and push
As someone who's almost as big of a fan of both, I can see both camps of people doing/saying some werido shyt.
The handfull of nikkas that hit me up when anything rap related is happening say the same shyt that I said. They give it to Lupe for being more direct and say Royce had the better showing.
The thing is, you might have listened to SLR3 a million times but you didn't need to. You pretty much got everything in one go, I had to listen to Royce shyt a bunch of times just to catch what was specifically aimed at Lupe and everything else. I like that kinda shyt, but you can't ask the crowd to be doing homework during a battle (same thing with Fab on stage).
It almost sounds like a verse from whatever project they were going to do together. I would love to hear Lupe jump on that beat with him if they hadn't fallen out.
