I still like Lupe, but after he announced that he developed an new AI software that finds the correlation between word and subjects I have a hard time appreciating his complex writing

Part of the Lupe mythos was him creating incredible word play layered through triple meanings out of thin air.

I played around the his app, and as a writer it’s extremely helpful, but at the same tim I personally don’t like using anything past a dictionary and thesaurus.

If my brain couldn’t connect the dot, it’s not my voice

His app is like a highly sophisticated “RhymeZone”

It’s still a dope album

I feel you on that. I saw the video.

I choose to believe that he doesn't craft albums like that that he is off the top of the dome and with pen and paper.

But if you were coming up with some bars about chess. And you got out a manual for chess, or some books on strategy and tactics and greatest games and made some dope bars or references to chess with those studies. Is it that much different than going on the internet and Google the same type of information?

It's always going to be one of those things anyone can do it. He showed the process. But can anyone do it as well or even close enough to him to attract fans? Get a deal? Do shows? Sell records?

Its good on a few songs but like... 10 songs straight of that is too much? Imagine rapping on París, Tokyo type beats for 10 songs straight, thats this album.

Its a dope project though! Go listen if you havent I just dont see the replayability
I don’t necessarily think that’s a negative on an rap album

But see that’s acquiring knowledge, reading through a manual and gathering an understanding well enough to create art is very admirable.

Learning a random new thing and writing about it is one of my favorite exercises.

But I 100% agree with you on that 2nd paragraph though, because even using that app at its full potential I could never out rap, Lupe.

I just wish people spent more time appreciating the process. I hate that we are so pressed to churn out content that we shortcut our own experiences

Yeah, unfortunately art tends to get watered down. To a point where anyone 'can do it'. It's doing it well and organically that tends or last or get noticed? Nowadays everything is manufactured and promoted. Hell with ai. It won't be long until you just say "siri, play a song with a dark boom bap beat, heavy bass line in the style of lupe fiasco or <insert artist> and AI will just freestyle a beat, and lyrics and a voice. Won't even be a real track or real artist or real producer.

This album is really dope. I haven’t had time to really dive deep into the lyrics yet to get the whole concept but just sonically this sounds good. I didn’t love the singles at first but Samurai really grew on me. His voice and flow sounds re energized on Mumble Rap. Definitely takes me back to F&L/ Cool Lupe

That's fair.

But Lupe with pen already done proven himself since more than a decade ago (also can you believe T&Y is turning 10 next year), so I kinda give him a pass. If AI can make him write better rhymes, then I'm all for it.

Real talk, maybe I’m in the minority….i hope he comes with energy levels like he did on Drogas Wave…I fukked with Drill Music in Zion but didn’t have replay value to me.

Ms Mural is still crazy though :ohlawd:
Kinda tragic how that album didn't get much shine. No marketing, no singles, no music video, nothing. I think I recall he even said he recorded the album in his closet or someshyt

Production is cold on this piece. Dope effort from Lu, usually hooks are a strong point but a lot of them on here are subpar by his standards imo. I need Lu to tie it together as far as this type of production and getting back into that the cool type bag, def sounded re-energized though.

Recorded at his home studio. Not only that, he recorded DMIZ in 3 days I think, from conception to laying the rhymes. The challenge was to do it in 24 hours. Still crazy.
