Cake is crazy. Second verse is insane he blacked out lyrically on there.
The bI’m digging the smooth jazz Nujabes esq beats on here. The hooks are a bit monotonous but the album lays well as a cohesive listen. Short and sweet.

I was a little worried going in but really paying attention to Samurai even though I got most of it and then Mumble Rap got me completely invested. The GOAT man smh.

Even Cake sounds much better within the context of the album.

I might be in the minority but I’m really fukking with the hooks on the album, some of them just randomly play in my head.

Might have to check out that Amy Winehouse doc that I never got around to. The voice mail she left for Salaam Remi before she died makes the concept make so much sense.

Album sounds like Lupe rapping over Blu and Exile Below the Heavens type of beats. Its cool but its a step down from DMIZ and all that lyrical tough talk and Kendrick subliminals just sound silly now

Its good on a few songs but like... 10 songs straight of that is too much? Imagine rapping on París, Tokyo type beats for 10 songs straight, thats this album.

Its a dope project though! Go listen if you havent I just dont see the replayability
