Adelson forcing this trade is the only logical conclusion anybody should be making. An unprecedented move like this is not coming from the GM.

Nico's spent the last two years making shrewd move after shrewd move to build a near perfect team around Luka and out of the blue, he decides to trade the guy the entire team is built around? For a third center at that who's six years older and on a supermax extension? He fleeced teams for Lively, Gafford and Washington but now he's the one getting fleeced?

Something personal happened between Luka and Adelson. Nothing else makes sense and considering she's an evil maniac, it probably had something to do with trump or Israel.

Mavs owners (Adelson fam) that bought Mark Cuban's control out are all about casinos, as we know. Despite donating like crazy to Trump and the big guns in Texas legislation, they keep getting denied opening a casino in DFW inside where the new Mavs arena will eventually be in a few years.

So their move is to bottom out and either force their way to Vegas or have the Texas government approve casinos. Feels like they will be the ownership in Vegas and Dallas will get an expansion team or something. Will Mark Cuban then own that new expansion team in Dallas outright again?

Starting to look like this saga will be an interesting documentary in a decade or less.

I agree with you here but SGA has finished top 5 in MVP voting the last 2 years and he's likely winning it this year. I value that on an individual level.

This still doesn't make sense because instead of pressuring politicians, this will anger them and their constituents. NBA owners are not going to approve a relocation of a team from Dallas to Vegas when they want a brand new expansion team in Vegas so they can collect the bounty that comes from it. The new team has to pay an expansion fee, which is money that gets divided up between all the owners.

Lakers struggles weren’t due to AD not being good enough. The RW trade fukked up our entire ability to build a proper team and we never recovered from it.

Top 3 records in the west are all inexperienced teams. It’s wide open.

I never said the Lakers struggles were AD’s fault nor am I saying they had everything they needed to win but AD just couldn’t get them there. He had been their best most consistent player for years now

AD is really fukking good. I’m not denying that. But there’s a gap between just being elite and being the best player on a championship team. History shows you need either an MVP caliber player or a ridiculously loaded roster with great coaching

Do I believe the Mavs can win a series? Yes. Do I think they’re winning four rounds? No

Puttin Luka on da open market like that sounds good but that comes with a lot. Who knows if Luka would even sign an extension with another team besided the lakers and the media attention woulda been even worse than it is now.

Yeah this is the ONE thing I agree with Nico on. You put it out there that Luka is on the block and you have to deal with a media frenzy for the rest of the year + an unhappy Luka. It's hard as hell to keep a trade a secret in today's NBA.

In a way I kinda respect a GM cutting bait from a young superstar vs being stuck in purgatory and being held hostage because no one thinks you can trade him.
