Nobody knew the Mavs felt like this :yeshrug:

If I knew Luka was on the block id immediately would’ve said let’s offer AD and whoever else the Mavs want

nikkas keep downplaying AD cuz he used as a scapegoat by Bron fakkits.

AD was an instant title for us and still is the top guy defensively. And he’s been healthy the last two years. He literally lead the Lakers in damn near every stat On a title team and nikkas say he’s not a number 1. He’s way better than the way people talk about him.
I wanna make it clear and say I'm an AD guy to the fullest and have actually applauded his ability to stay healthy these last couple of years. The issue(s) here is not making Luka available league wide, also AD being 32 while Luka is 25-26 while the Mavs try to push out a narrative that they made this play for the future. You'd rather have Luka for the next 10 years than you would an AD. Again, not to say that AD isn't a great player in his own right.

Underrated post. You know where you need to improve because it cost you a championship, but you still come in outta shape and no better on the defensive end of the court. I understand you're a MEGA star, but damn meet me halfway at least.

Honestly, this is the same problem I had with Dirk when he got Avery Johnson fired because he didn't play defense.
Exactly think of any other great them mfs will spend every day after losing the chip working on their weakness. But this mf don’t. Even Bron tried to start expanding his game and shyt when he saw it was the reason he was losing in the finals

He was a complete monster in the Bubble. It was also 5 years ago. He’s still elite but not as good as he was then and regardless of how you feel about Bron, 2025 Kyrie is not even on the same planet as him

He’s still better than damn near every big but Jokic in the west

AD also seems to be healthier than he was 5 years ago

Lakers struggles weren’t due to AD not being good enough. The RW trade fukked up our entire ability to build a proper team and we never recovered from it.

Top 3 records in the west are all inexperienced teams. It’s wide open.

Who are you getting that’s equal to AD. They literally got a top 5 player

Well in order to trade Luka and “win now” they had to grab the best superstar they could get, and that was AD

Obviously they gotta win a title this season or next to make it worth it.

I also think there’s more to the story than what we’re getting. Something had to happen behind the scenes with Luka and the ownership.

not gonna lie... This makes some sense. Wouldn't be shocked if nico was forced to make a trade to the lakers, since it benefits the Adelson family. No players from the clippers were impactful enough . And Nico built this team amazingly, acquiring Kyrie gafford and lively, then do this? ehh...

*Takes off tinfoil hat*
Adelson forcing this trade is the only logical conclusion anybody should be making. An unprecedented move like this is not coming from the GM.

Nico's spent the last two years making shrewd move after shrewd move to build a near perfect team around Luka and out of the blue, he decides to trade the guy the entire team is built around? For a third center at that who's six years older and on a supermax extension? He fleeced teams for Lively, Gafford and Washington but now he's the one getting fleeced?

Something personal happened between Luka and Adelson. Nothing else makes sense and considering she's an evil maniac, it probably had something to do with trump or Israel.

We know this never would have happened if Cuban still owned the team.

Fans overrated the hell out of draft picks.
:hubie:
Exactly look at that nets trade with the suns for KD they got 4 picks that are all gonna be in the 20s. If I’m trading a superstar and I can get an all nba guy fukk them picks.

Facts. What have the Pelicans done with the picks they got for AD? What has Houston done with the picks they got for Harden? Even the OKC-Clippers PG trade, they drafted their top players using their own draft picks and SGA is worth way more than all those picks. The outcome of that Brooklyn Celtics trade as far as what the picks turned into is an outlier.

Well this is the real thing I'm getting at, I'm not falling for the Mavs propaganda shyt they're putting out there. Not coughing up the money being the main thing as the new ownership likely just views the team as an investment vehicle instead of really caring.

I wonder if it will ever come out why exactly he sold his majority stake in the team. His reasoning about Adleson’s being real estate savvy doesn’t really make sense.

1. Jokic
2. Giannis
3. Luka
4. Shai
5. Wemby/Tatum/Embiid????

AD hasn't been an unquestioned top 5 player in a few years now

Can’t give Shai the benefit of the doubt yet when he hasn’t made the WCFs. AD was just there in 2023 with a makeshift squad.

Embiid, definitely not. You trade for AD before Embiid.

Wemby, I’ll give you that just cuz he’s such a unicorn

Obviously no argument for Jokic/Giannis

So if Luka was the Mavs main problem to some on here then I expect them to win the finals this year since they made the finals last year and now have gotten rid of the player who was holding them back
Let's see if they make any other deals and watch the games
You’ve just contradicted yourself @GoldenGlove.

First you listed all these things that Luka needs to support him to win a title (as reason for why the Mavs traded him), but now you’re saying the Mavs still need to make more moves in addition to trading Luka for AD to win.

They should be good enough now to win according to your logic.

And not just this season but next season too.
