The next question is what superstar is gonna pair with Luka in LA the next few years.
You thinking like I'm thinking

Won't be shocked if we don't see not 1 play with Luka and LeBron playing with each other

Part of me feels this was the Lakers aborting the LeBron and Davis duo and LeBron about to get traded before the deadline

My guess to the warriors to pair LeBron and Steph together.

Will AD play in that game or will he pull an Embiid?

Hate how the internet/Twitter has allowed bum ass nobodies to speak on pros who really do that shyt. CJ nicer than 99.9% of ppl on this planet but untalented faceless goofies are allowed to talk wreckless.
Nah this is what made Twitter 🔥 back in the days before the Nazi bought it and ruined it.

If you really wanted to trade him, then you could’ve gotten a kings ransom for him. Nothing about this makes sense
The return would have had to start with another young star (ja morant, wemby, lamelo ball, Anthony Edwards etc ) and a crap load of future picks. Feels like a deal the league wanted to make happen

Terrible business decision for sure but lowkey i think mavs got better short term ads age/health is the issue for me. Lakers basically got to rebuild around luka with defense which won't be cheap. They need picks or something have to draft talent. Clock is ticking for lakers

What makes this trade even more awful for Dallas is that Superstar talents like Luka don't appear in the draft often, so you basically traded away your future for a quick chip that likely won't transpire.

So if and when Kyrie, AD, or maybe both of them leave, you'll be back to mediocrity for the foreseeable future because, again, generational Superstar talents are hard to find in the draft, especially at the position the Mavs tend to be in the draft every year. They were lucky to get Luka and they threw him away for a run that is all but wishful thinking.

At least with Luka, even if you didn't make the Finals and/or win the championship year after year, you could pride yourself on the fact that you have a young superstar in his peak putting up MVP numbers with a decent supporting cast to keep you in playoff position for the sake of the fans.

Not only that an older guy like ad

Look at Paul George at 34, that will prob be ad in a few years.

While dudes like Shai and Luka still dominating

I'm sorry but I would have done everything to appease Luka, trading everyone ,firing the coach, gm etc.

The Voiceless Realm
Lebron has a no trade clause

Also a player option at the end of the year

Even if he wanted to go somewhere.. why would he gut that roster when he could just sign there next year
Because there is this thing called the salary cap and he'd have to leave millions on the table and potentially even signing a minimum level contract to do it.

This trade really exposes the difference between Luka doncic stans and actual Dallas mavericks fans. The former were Mavs fans as long as he was there. They followed the team as a result of jumping on the great white hope bandwagon. They were Fans of his name on the back instead of the team logo and name in the front. Now that he’s gone, they don’t have to pretend anymore. They won’t support the mavs again. Many of These people are following Luka to LA and changing their fan allegiances to the Lakers. They’re behaving exactly like Bron fans who pretended to support the cavs, heat and lakers during all these years. Wherever their favorite goes, they will follow him just like groupies.

The latter are shocked by this news, but after a while they will emotionally recover, come back to their senses and continue to devoutly support the mavericks with their hearts, dollars and minds. They will always be loyal to their favorite team regardless of what happens because their love of the team is bigger than their love of any player no matter how great he is. True fans live vicariously through the success of their own team, instead of living vicariously through the success of a individual player.

the reactionary and emotional reactions following the trade also show us that the casual and fair weather fans outnumber the diehard fans.
I’ll only accept this post if you’re a Mavs fan.
