Cavs going for it this year. They'll give Lakers Allen for him for sure.

LeBron ultimately has to make the call. Does he want one real shot at a championship window or not. Hollywood Bron era is OVER. Time to cement his basketball legacy at his real HOME. He can go to Cleveland and have a legit chance talk at two more rings.

Makes too much sense
Oh most definitely, that's why I feel like he wouldn't want them to move pieces and just come as a FA. They keep that same team, maybe move one or 2 contracts to make like 20 mil in space to sign Bron fron 1-2 years.

That'd be the perfect way to set the team up nicely for now and keep their future in tact without losing any assets.

the long term ramifications this will have on the Mavs cant be overstated

there was a whole generation of Mavs fans who idolized Luka

yeah, they can cite basketball reasons, but this was such a terrible business decision -- they got absentee ownership now that Cuban sold to some old bag though

Which is honestly what terrifies me of the Celtics looming sale, people truly do not understand the value of having ownership that cares about winning & long term success but also smart enough to not meddle too much

Having ownership that cares solely about maximizing profits and nothing else is one of the worst positions to be in

I told you this. My sources more plugged in than your sources. The entire Klutch enterprise is in a state of SHOCK

Expect LeBron to force a trade by the deadline. They have to just figure out where they want to go

The more I think about it the less sense this trade makes for Dallas....the mental gymnastics some folks are doing to justify this trade is impressive :ehh:

This is bordering on WWE levels of a trade ...I'm a Lakers fan so im not mad at it :myman:

If the perimeter player isn't a two way, you might as well have the elite big

AD should be able to bully the grizzlies/rockets/thunder. 4 outta 7 games

Trash? Man the Lakers record already better mid season than the 2013-14 Lakers, 2014-15 Lakers, 2015-16 Lakers, 2016-17 Lakers, & 2017-18 Lakers:heh:

Nah Cavs wanna pay LeBron. Can't do that through FA. LeBron can't really go anywhere next season and still get paid UNLESS he's moved by the deadline 😉

Man this shyt really makes me mad

you expect me to believe they let go of a guy who helped get them to the finals last year, label him someone as a player can’t win it all and he’s got horrible conditioning, to trade him for a guy we call street clothes :skip:

So fukking angry

Nico must have hated Luka and this is personal probably tired of the whining but damn

This trade really exposes the difference between Luka doncic stans and actual Dallas mavericks fans. The former were Mavs fans as long as he was there. They followed the team as a result of jumping on the great white hope bandwagon. They were Fans of his name on the back instead of the team logo and name in the front. Now that he’s gone, they don’t have to pretend anymore. They won’t support the mavs again. Many of These people are following Luka to LA and changing their fan allegiances to the Lakers. They’re behaving exactly like Bron fans who pretended to support the cavs, heat and lakers during all these years. Wherever their favorite goes, they will follow him just like groupies.

The latter are shocked by this news, but after a while they will emotionally recover, come back to their senses and continue to devoutly support the mavericks with their hearts, dollars and minds. They will always be loyal to their favorite team regardless of what happens because their love of the team is bigger than their love of any player no matter how great he is. True fans live vicariously through the success of their own team, instead of living vicariously through the success of a individual player.

the reactionary and emotional reactions following the trade also show us that the casual and fair weather fans outnumber the diehard fans.

Suns owner Matt Ishbia is probably trying to speak with Rich Paul right now.

What makes this trade even more awful for Dallas is that Superstar talents like Luka don't appear in the draft often, so you basically traded away your future for a quick chip that likely won't transpire.

So if and when Kyrie, AD, or maybe both of them leave, you'll be back to mediocrity for the foreseeable future because, again, generational Superstar talents are hard to find in the draft, especially at the drafting position the Mavs tend to be in every year. They were lucky to get Luka and they threw him away for a run that is all but wishful thinking.

It's very kinda idiotic to perceive yourself to be in a “win-now” mode by trading away the franchise player who got you in that position in the first place. They're not in “win-now” mode because of Kyrie, Klay, Lively, etc, but because of Luka himself, he was the reason why the championship window existed.

At least with Luka, even if you didn't make the Finals and/or win the championship year after year, you could pride yourself on the fact that you have a young superstar in his peak putting up MVP numbers with a decent supporting cast to keep you in playoff position for the sake of the fans.
