Curry will stay but I think Yogi is gone.
Rachel Nichols, Kevin Arnovitz and Zach Lowe break down the possibility of the Dallas Mavericks acquiring -- via NBA free agency or a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers -- big man DeAndre Jordan, to put alongside Luka Doncic, Harrison Barnes, Dennis Smith Jr. and Dirk Nowitzki.
gotta have a backup plan and a backup.Never understood giving him that offer anyway. Let him walk
Not ideal
Mavs needed him to opt-in and then trade for him so there would still be cap-space for another big-ish FA
Edit: Altho.....
I'm gonna need to know if it was the Mavs or the Clippers that said no to Wes being involved in a Deandre trade
Did the Mavs not include him in the Doncic trade because they wanted to keep him around for a potential Deandre trade? Or did they have no intention of trading him in either deal because he is too important as a locker-room leader?
Even if the Clippers didn't want Wes, you would have to think that a three-team trade would have been possible sending Wes to that third team
Is it fucced up that I hope Doncic doesn't turn into a star? I just want him to be a starter that's a fringe all-star player. I don't want another eurocac as the face of the franchise. I always lowkey felt that hurt us when it came to landing big name free agents. I will be happy if he's just another Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, or Andrei Kirilenko instead of a face of the franchise player like Dirk was.
