IMO this episode saved many casual viewers from losing interest and jumping ship.
@voltronblack I have a question regarding the lore
If Sauron is Maiar, and so is Gandalf, Saruman, and the rest of the Wizards... why was Saruman subservient to Sauron? Wouldnt they both be on a similar power level? I dont remember that explanation.
Also why is Galadriel or elves like Elronds father damn near on the power scale where they can fight and meet the gods (Valar and Maiar) but then you have Elves like Legolas who are not soloing a Balrog 1v1.
Is their like an official tier list? I know Eru Iluvatar is God, Morgoth is like Lucifer, and Sauron would be a high ranking demon like Belial or something.... but are the Istari naturally on Saurons level or Sauron was just different?
Ok saruman was not really loyalty to Sauron he was plotting on over throwing him and take the one ring for himself hell any of the big power player could take the one ring and use it to fight sauron but than they would have become the new dark lord because so much of sauron soul was pour in the one ring Also it not just sauron saruman had to deal with it was the Nazgûls as well chief among them the witch king.@voltronblack I have a question regarding the lore

The south lands started with a population of 50 and it’s ended with a population of 50
I was pissed to begin with that Arondir would even give it to that a$$hole kid Theo. But then it got even worse when he opened that shyt upSo none of them thought to check under the cloth
So the idiot kid breaks and gives the sword to evil elf then in turn elfbreh gives it to him to get rid of it? Delegating his job…after the kid been hoarding the sword and all …that was confusing… and a bad judgement call. Then, why no one bothered to confirm the sword was in their hands?I was pissed to begin with that Arondir would even give it to that a$$hole kid Theo. I'll give them a pass for that one. Arondir trying to bond with the kid, by putting the whole world in danger, because he's trying to fukk his mom is not the most implausible plot point And also it goes along with subtle implication that Arondir might be the kids father. He better not be hiding half of an elf ear under that hairSo the idiot kid breaks and gives the sword to evil elf then in turn elfbreh gives it to him to get rid of it? Without these actions I guess the story doesn’t move forward.
This plus the war with Morgoth("War of wrath") literally nearly broke the planet, the gawds don't want to risk that so they tasked the Wizards with influencing men.Ok saruman was not really loyalty to Sauron he was plotting on over throwing him and take the one ring for himself hell any of the big power player could take the one ring and use it to fight sauron but than they would have become the new dark lord because so much of sauron soul was pour in the one ring Also it not just sauron saruman had to deal with it was the Nazgûls as well chief among them the witch king.
I think their just a big difference in power levels between the Valian years/first age of elves and those that were born in Valinor and the elves that were born outside of valinor after the first ageThe Valian years elves where at their peak of power Galadriel and elves like Elronds father are example of that once you get to the first age and after the elves are reaching status the show at this point already touch on that somewhat and once sauron show up offering to help beat the away you see the elves talk more about the glory days of their people past
Sauron was powerful also the one ring play a big part of helping him go to the next level and the Istari were sent to help men so their powers were not to rival Sauron less they too become like Sauron which if you look at what went down with saruman the valar were right in doing so.

For me the more egregious part was Galadriel and Halbrand not killing Adar. Had a real Dr. Evil/Austin Powers vibe.
