Ricans came into HipHop and latched on to bboying right when it was considered played out by the pioneers

Trac2 started bboying in 1977

Here goes an interview from 1994 when Trac2 describes the demographics of bboying/hiphop as he saw it 1977

Black people had been bboying since 1970 and left it behind as they became older/mcs/djs etc...

this is how the demographics shift from the 1970s to early 1980s made it look like Ricans created bboying by the time HipHop started being filmed (Wildstyle, Beat Street, Style Wars etc..)

How come no one is talking about how Lord Jamar got backlash for that video in the OP on urban social media?

:sas1:

The title of the thread is literally the opposite of the actual turnout. The Coli and the real world are two different worlds. At the end of the day the people have spoken and in the real world, they don't give a fukk how it started because the 70s are dead and everyone is invited to the party now.

Hip-Hop comes from Black American culture. I don't agree with Jamar saying no other contributions but hip-hop comes from Black American culture.

This didn't happen in Jamaica or Puerto Rico. It didn't happen in rural America.

The folks trying to lay claim are the same ones that were harassed by their parents to stay away from my people. It's so disingenuous.

Bored Jamar is literally generic consciousness, dime a dozen voice with a microphone.

KRS-One = Knowledge Reigns Supreme - Over Nearly Everything - the man is walking scripture. To even present this as it is in the thread title without someone here to check it, reflects poorly on our community as a whole

Lord Jamar is like Tariq Nasheed were those old tweets acknowledging Kool Herc are coming back to haunt his contradiction. This is just another reason why I originally said Lord Jamar isn't the go to guy for this topic.

Jamar's opinion and take on sh*t changes with the wind. Anyone that's been around long enough knows that about bro.

But he's consistent on giving Herc his proper respect, when it suits him.
