NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
LF just tweeted

2. Basics – Mixtapes are one thing, but you can’t take someone’s else’s entire song, shoot a music video and call it your own.

The way he talkin u would think the nikka took the WHOLE song...he just spit over the beat..like I said...other than the fact I think these artists should make it REALLY clear where the beats come from..I don't see the issue...

mac miller is not a culturally viable rapper.

so why should a real bboy from the culture of hiphop.

respect someone who is not a real fixture/figure of the culture.

it is as simple as that,....

motherfukkers be biting and trying to use the homage/love bullshyt.

i don't blame finesse,...fukk all toys and culture thieves.

fukk you,..pay me, toy!!!

art barr

I don't see why people in here are trying cosign him.

In Addition
Reading his wiki page, he is jewish. :rudy:
Maybe in taking money & keeping it in a safe.
But other than that, :childplease:.

I might be late but did y'all see this...

Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller has come forward to address hip-hop legend Lord Finesse filing a ten million dollar lawsuit against him for sampling his 1995 classic, "Hip 2 Da Game."

Rather than take shots at Finesse, Miller paid homage and explained his side of the story.

"I'm supposed to be on hush but lemme speak on this real quick," he tweeted July 11th.
"1. I made that record and video as nothing more than an 18 year old kid who wanted to rhyme and pay homage, no other intentions."
"2. Finesse and I spoke on the phone for an hour after he heard the record and cleared the air. We even planned to work on music together"
"3. All I wanted to do is shed light on a generation that inspired me"
"5. Finesse never cleared the Oscar Peterson sample on the original record."
"I did nothing wrong. We spoke on the phone had a good conversation, he was cool with the record."
"It's all love tho. I ain't even mad at dude. He still a legend."
"4. When I heard there was a problem, I reached out to him to try and solve it. No response."
"Lord Finesse, thank you for what u did for hip hop. Thank you for bringing my favorite rapper into the game." (Mac Miller's Twitter)

I DO think nikkas should make it CLEAR where they get these beats from tho...

that's all Finesse wanted. he asked for his name to be put into the video. that didn't happen. he sent them a cease-and-desist, and they ignored that. and here we are...

this is similar to the Lupe situation where these cats are trusting their 'handlers' to take care of all this shyt, and they're not

just like the Lupe situation, we're getting conflicting stories

but when was the last time you talked to another dude on the phone for an hour? sounds like :duck:

Sometimes you have to single somebody out to make an example.

My point was if Finesse had to pay for the samples he used, why should someone be able to freeload off his work?

Reality is, I dont want to hear a bunch of mixtapes with rappers raping the music I grew up on.

I like mixtapes with new beats. I like songs with new beats.
Lupe was borderline wack for remaking TROY. There used to be a rule that if you were going to remake a classic it had to be something next level. Now you got rappers putting out releases where they just skate on a well known beat (Spitta on Verde Terrace) and diminish the value of the original.

I dont want to hear emcee pee pants rap over Shook Ones or whatever. And I have no problem with the artists who created those instrumentals getting paid when money has been generated off their work.
