If Tomlin just cared about 'maintaining a winning record', he would just stick with the proven commodity (i.e. Fields). He is obviously looking for more, and is willing to to make a change despite being 4-2.

He’s been able to do that with lesser QBs so I wouldn’t use that as the bases of your argument. Russ was promised the starting QB job by evidence of him signing there and Fields hasn’t been playing lights out to go against it.

Still doesn’t change the fact that his mindset on offense doesn’t work in 2024.
