Went to a 40th birthday party yesterday with a lot of old friends from my early 20’s. Ive been alcohol free for almost two years now. It’s such a different vibe now. I enjoy myself but after a few hours when everyone is feeling it gets dicey.
Yesterday I noticed a couple people on something and it made me feel mad uncomfortable. When you see people yaked out and/or doing dumb shyt it just makes me happy with the choices I have made for myself.
I don’t cling to the past anymore for sense of security. Those days are long gone and this new person I am now is where I want to be.

I lasted 260 days & got waved on the whiskey pretty bad...
Next day i felt like i let myself down but I've been clean again since then which has been a few weeks..

Like others said, socializing is wild different now, I really notice how much the booze was my coping mechanism for masking anxiety....also numbing myself to dealing with in-laws and other annoying people

I stopped the daily drinking 3 weeks ago, down to 1-2 days a week only. That hamster wheel is tough to get off, but I had to do it. Tired of being

If I dont drink tonight it will be 3 days for me. I've been drinking basically everyday for the last like 4 years. Longest I've gone without it was 30 days

I asked my doctor about that when I first gave up the booze and they wouldn't prescribe it unless I went to rehab
