Everyone wants to play for the yankees breh. Hideki matsui was babe ruth of japan, he still came to the yankees.

Anyone else saying different is lying to themselves.

Exactly. Cody left WWE and made a list of who he wanted to wrestle. He didnt want to be under contract so he isnt. Point is he left WWE on his own to go literally EVERYWHERE else but now dudes want to move the goal posts

Try to keep up buddy.. The argument is WWE vs NJPW.

my point is nobody is leaving WWE for Japan. NJPW is only a small part of a broader way to make comparable money to WWE (roh/indies/Mexico/Japan)

So you're basically making my point for me. Thanks I guess ? :mjlol:

People been looking for reasons to shyt on Okada/Omega ever since Meltzer gave it 6 Stars :manny:

That's it, when you give something that type of praise people can't wait to pick it apart.
Styles Cena wasn't better because Cena does the AA way too much, omega didn't hit the one wing angle not one time. All Cena does is kick out of big moves and go for his Aa. Also wwe matches go for pins too much like we know after a top rope splash the match won't be over. But njpw matches you never know when the match will end.

NJPW is not the minors, thats stupid. You dont go to a minor league baseball game or an NBA d-league game and see a better game than you would expect in the majors or the NBA, yet that is the case with NJPW vs WWE.

That said, Omega's not doing himself any favors with the dismissive attitude, especially after deciding not to come here and disappointing many.

No. WWE is like a major label. You sign your contract, and your career - from the songwriting to the marketing - is taken over by a team packaging you as a product. The indies are like independent label distribution or self-publishing. You make your own merch, you book your own gigs, you write your own music. Yeah, there's a chance that you could go platinum on a major label. But there's a better chance you end up touring on one hit you had 15 years ago because the major label decided your genre was a fad, or held your second album back long enough that people forgot about you.

They may have left WWE to leave WWE period but they found Japan pretty quick and helped to pave it as an alternative for a career
And we know the Bucks were contacted but they kept on spurning them which is why they can troll and say "Well we were never offered a deal" because they rejected them at the first point of contact (Which is why they had WWE throwing subs at them like when Mark Henry did a couple of years back)

Something you havent considered about your original point

You keep saying no one else major has gone from WWE to New Japan. The problem is no one else from WWE is major in recent years Gedo aint out here trying to sign Jinder Mahal is he?

But we do know in the last couple of years with the US TV deal and the growth of Japanese wrestling, more guys are going to Japan first before WWE and Im fairy sure if there was anyone good enough who really believed in themselves they would which is why Morrison and Galloway had a crack and improved, Davey Boy Jr totally reinvented himself and improved in Japan and all 3 have contracts to go back there as well.

Now we see Omega sticking around to build its presence in the US and I think its safe to say its not just a "Supplment league"

And naturally in response to that WWE is eating up smaller indies who had deals with New Japan to prevent that.
Didn't the young bucks do a wwe tryout years ago hence the heat they got for not saying hi to booker t

NJPW definitely is nothing close to being the indies or minor league.

I consider wrestling like soccer. You have different leagues, some bigger than others of course. But clearly WWE and NJPW are like real madrid la liga and manchester united premier league.

With that being said. AJ is my favorite wrestler in the world. But O vs O was clearly the better match

Beef: quashed.

There was some talk about them coming over with the rest of the New Japan raid, but they had already signed their 2016 contracts with ROH and NJPW before those talks could even start.

I think KA was probably working smarks with that tweet, I don't believe he made that much, not when you consider the reports that AJ came in for a $500K downside which they said was $100k more than he made the year before, when he was THE top guy in Japan.

So you figure between that and his live event cuts, PPV's, merch, he probably made a couple mill easy, and he wasn't even a main eventer for the first half of the year. Nobody in Japan besides maybe the top homegrown star like Tanahashi is making money like that
KA was with Giant Bernard (Albert/Tensai/Matt Bloom) as two of the biggest gaijin wrestlers there, he was pretty big before BC.

NJPW loved him. I believe it.

Also, AJ's contract factored in doing beaucoup bucks in the Indies and Europe. Factor in his limited dates, and it's definitely plausible.
