WTF would any star making big money in America willingly go over to work a full-time japan schedule, wrestling more physical matches in a foreign country for less money? That shyt makes no sense, until that changes they're minor league compared to WWE.

They wouldn't. The top guys make more than the upper mid card in WWE. So already you're ahead of like 85% of WWE or maybe even 95% if we assume top guys are basically Cena and Lesnar.
Couple with the fact that post Bullet Club, top guys are also getting merch royalties and its probably a legit viable option than before

I mean you cook in Japan, Devitt was a proper celeb with an Armani modelling contract. Only reason he came to WWE was to basically try and he did it after a decade and well into his 30s.

So if you're a top guy who aint creatively pushed its a good look and again we've seen big money go to Japan in between stints in WWE and that was in a time when there was more options in the US (WCW, ECW)

Now with less options and New Japan having TV in the US and setting up regular US tours, you can probably cook. It'll take one guy much like Hogan in WCW to make that move to really shift. That' why we'll know if Punk or Bryan ever go to New Japan post contracts with UFC and WWE

Not being a spotfest was enough for Styles-Cena III to be better than Okada-Omega
Flippy shyt won't be the kind of thing to be remembered years after it happened.

There wasn't "flippy shyt" in Omega/Okada. It wasn't that style of match at all. I can tell just from this post you didn't watch it, clown. :mjlol:

Receipts?

Per Meltzer and Reddit, Tanahashi was making 500k a year back in 2013

Now to be fair, Gedo tried to lower salaries but increase years with the idea of job security but in the era of them having their stars poached, they had upped deals with guys like Okada to be $830k :ehh:

Karl Anderson tweeted a few years back he was making 640k but he might have been exaggerated. Still he was making good money

This right here is how i know yall are trolling. There was absolutely no flippy shyt in the okada/omega match. It was tried and true representation of modern stiff japanese wrestling. And didnt cena do a canadian destroyer??the epitome of flippy shyt.:mjlol:

And people don't understand, they are Gods in Japan, they got commercials, toys, endorsements and shyt and it ain't like WWE where they are robbed blind on trademarks

I think KA was probably working smarks with that tweet, I don't believe he made that much, not when you consider the reports that AJ came in for a $500K downside which they said was $100k more than he made the year before, when he was THE top guy in Japan.

So you figure between that and his live event cuts, PPV's, merch, he probably made a couple mill easy, and he wasn't even a main eventer for the first half of the year. Nobody in Japan besides maybe the top homegrown star like Tanahashi is making money like that

Its a lot of work to do all that tho, you gotta constantly be doing dinners with sponsors and appearances and shyt, your boy Omega talkd about it on Jericho podcast and he even said on there that he would make more money in WWE

In a post Bullet Club world and given that the promotion has grown despite losing stars I would say the upside is there

That's basically why Kenny is staying. WWE wanted him and he sees upside not only salary but in expansion to North America. So he's basically wants to part of what looks like the re-establishiment of New Japan as a viable option vs WWE

I mean if 100k is the only difference between WWE and New Japan for a guy like AJ who's a top guy in both (and you know he was seeing BC merch money) then New Japan is a legit alternative

So basically the same shyt you gotta do in the WWE but actually get recognized for it instead of only Cena?:pachaha:

Half the fukking roster in the 'E would kill to meet with sponsors themselves, that was half of CM Punk's podcast rant:pachaha:
