No college games, one good NBA franchise who's been slacking apparently, still no competition in the NFL, one highly rated MLB game.

Not to mention no great arcady titles either.

shyt's sad man.

People always looked at me crazy when the NEXT gen of gaming is looking sparse. Glad that people are seeing that a lack of legit competition is harming the quality of gaming on the sports end.

real talk MLB the show is one of the main reasons Im going to roll with the ps4 and that new UFC game is looking lovely which only gets me hyped for a future boxing game from EA. But I agree there needs to be more choices for sports gamers, especially the casual gamer who doesnt want to learn the game and when they lose "this game sucks" go play mario tennis then breh...I like my sports game realistic.

:heh:

Do they still make those? I remember those used to be super popular back in the NES/Genesis/PSOne days.
2k and the show are excellent and better than any other bball or baseball game.

Madden is very much improved.

I think a lot of y'all just enjoy bashing madden or playing it to point out the flaws.

Or most don't play it. And brag about how they haven't played in so long while at the same time saying it's trash

Two major issues:

1. Lack of competition - No incentive to really innovate in a monopoly. The things that 2K was doing in NFL 2K5 were crazy. The fact that Madden never implemented them (if they did it was well after I stopped buying Madden) is crazy.

2. Realism was taken too far. - I stopped playing NBA 2K because it's too animation dependent. It then becomes a game of animation manipulation. The fact that I can hit X at the top of the key and go into a long un-interruptable layup animation is ridiculous.

Also,
Folks gotta understand that we don't play sports games for hyper-realism. We play to do things that COULD happen if we were in control. For instance, people always bytch about 3 pt shooting in 2K but fukk that... If you're Steph Curry and you're open and I got perfect form, you better make that shyt. The game taking things out of my hands is stupid. If that's how I wanna play let me play like that and let the other team figure out how to stop me.

Games don't even let you max out stats these days. If I want to create a Center with 99 speed, why can't I? The purpose of these games are fun.

Keep spinning meach. Mostly everyone is in agreement with Madden these days. That franchise was ass an entire generation.

If EA would take some of the franchise stuff from mlb the show and my player stuff from nba 2k it will feel much fresh and different than the roster updates EA has been releasing yearly.
The last Madden was dope as hell doe i'll be damned if it didnt redeem itself with that one. There was a rough patch for a few years and lets not talk about how NCAA trashed the recruit mode, ruined the las two games because of that

Umm there are no other baseball games :what:

You can say that the games are better than madden(opinion)

But you can't say they've evolved or improved more than madden this gen. That's just not a factual statement.

:mjlol: you gotta be kidding. Madden hasn't added anything game changing since 05, actually they removed features then put it back then took it out again :dead:and Madden is the worse when it comes to animations. You can get hit backwards 5 yards then another player will hit you forward 8 or more.

True, and speaking from another perspective. 2K for example, you don't even have the option to play with real rosters(trades, free agents, etc), but without the injuries.

If I'm a Bulls fan and I want to play Exhibition games against a friend with the up to date NBA rosters, I can NEVER use Derrick Rose b/c he's always hurt in real life. I can't use Derrick Rose period if I want to have up-to-date rosters in terms of player transactions.'

Grown ppl don't always have the time to play a long Season mode, so I pick up the game and want to play an Exhibition with up to date rosters. Only to start the game and see someone like Blake Griffin isn't playing b/c he missed 2 games in real life :beli: And there's literally nothing I can do about it.

I've praised the Show everytime, but again, it alone is NOT going to make most fans go buy a PS4. I have bought The Show the past 3 out of 4 years, but I'm not buying a PS4 for it ALONE

Most ppl arent unless they're a hardcore baseball fan

I do, but I understand that most people don't. I prefer realistic football games over arcade games. I like to dig in on strategy and play online with people that are doing the same. The arcade ones don't really have enough depth to hold my interest.

I don't think any one company will ever be able to get it 'right' unless they put out a realistic game with arcade modes.
