Yeah you need tact in what's basically a hostage situation unless you want that person dead. Besdies, "WNBA is investigating Russia over Griner incident" sounds ridiculous compared to "WNBA is investigating alleged comments by Liz Cambage" which is way more in the realm of possibility yet still didn't happen.

I get why they won’t in that instance, but there’s no reason for the league to protect Griner outside of them not wanting to look like a hypocrite and going against what their league stands for. Cambage is always bytching about something and trying to play the victim, which is exactly what she did when this situation first happened and still doing now.
