My unpopular opinion? They absolutely will run Cheney. I think she is a surprise ace in the hole. Many folks look at me crazy when I say it, though. Or they ask who she even is. I don't see Biden running again. He served his purpose and he is just too old. Politically need someone younger from the Democrats.

Kamala vs Cheney would be a sight. But I don't believe Kamala will run. I think Democrats have something up their sleeve and are moving in silence.

Yeah, I've been saying Cheney is going to run, and people have been looking at me crazy, because they think it'll be DeSantis. They'll both run, but ultimately, I think Cheney wins the nomination just by being the least batshyt crazy option.

A split vote hurts whoever they choose, however. GOP has less votes to go around every election. That is never discussed openly but I bet they chop it up behind closed doors. Texas is trending towards blue if you compare numbers. It won't happen for 3 elections minimum but the trend is clear.

Yeah, an understated voting trend is that the west/southwest is slowly changing due to California pricing people out. I don't have any data on hand to back it up, but I solidly believe that a good portion of the reason Arizona went Democrat in 2020 is transplants from California moving here. I can easily see the same happening in Texas.

I don't think they've strategized that far out. They need to get the damn "progressives" to fall in line like Republicans do time after time. And progressive voters need to learn to get behind them as well and stop expecting immediate change.
To be fair Biden got a lot of Progressive support! But I agree they gotta build their numbers up more and be more patient. Their rise has been very impressive, though.

Trump has already said he is going to run again in New York Magazine a few weeks ago. There is nobody that can beat him in the primary. If they run too many candidates, Trump wins via split vote. If they do 1 on 1 in hopes of beating Trump, Trump wins because he will shyt on an humiliate anyone they throw at him. Primaries are about getting your base to turn out. The base are Trump supporters. Biden will have to run. Nobody else, not Gavin Newsom, not Big Gretch, nobody can beat Trump.

These hearings have had a little bit of effect on Trump's image but not enough to stop him from winning in 2024. If the economy is in recession, or there are still inflation concerns, that is the opening for Trump to win.

Its possible that if DOJ indicts Trump, that would stop him from winning the general election.

The fact that Trump can possibly be President again after inciting an insurrection and attempting to overthrow democracy shows how fickle this country is.

He did but they, talking voters, are too willing to tank momentum when they take an L. We already know that if you want any sort of social program, you need democrats because the republicans aren't trying to put forth that legislation on their own (but will damn sure take credit when it passes). But that's what happens when being politically interested is a once every 2-4 year occurrence :yeshrug:

Only person I can see is Beto

Think more creatively my man! Newsom is a given establishment candidate, but the ticket I would like to see is Sherrod Brown/Julian Castro. Brown, for an establishment dem, is at least closer to my progressive leaning politics and is a midwesterner so is relatable to fly over states, and has that working class advocate background. Castro would be the first Latino veep so there is the demographic appeal there but he also has the potential to appeal to a wider audience. Can't see it happening, but I think that would be a really solid ticket.

The frickin Secret Service let themselves get caught up in an insurrection against the United States government. ::wow:

Do you realize how insane that is? The SECRET SERVICE.

One gift that Trump has, and someone quoted him saying it... He told somebody that his greatest gift is that when people tell him what he can't do, he is able to strongarm them to get it done anyway. This dude corrupted EVERY sector of the US government.

He is like a real life Wilson Fisk in that regard, from s3 of Daredevil. Fisk corrupted the FBI and a prison. Trump corrupted the FBI (the entire Justice Department really), the Secret Service, the Supreme Court, Congress, and everything else he touched.

Dude is a complete IDIOT but he's smart when it comes to criminal behavior.

One day, if America survives this, and that's still a strong IF... one day, people will look back at this and marvel over how all these democratic institutions let themselves be entirely implicated in criminal behavior by an idiot madman.

This is bad. Every American institution has been tainted by this fool.

White supremacy trump's everything for these people :wow:

Folks in here saying Liz Cheney is gonna win a republican presidential nomination:pachaha:

Y'all are crazy. She probably won't win her own reelection to the House, let alone a MAGA presidential election.

He is very close to teflon.

After everything he did in his Presidency, including the disaster handling of covid, getting impeached for trying to get Ukraine to investigate the Bidens, Trump only lost re-election by roughly 42,000 votes.

On a side note, an article came out today in which a NY prosecutor who worked on the NY tax/bank fraud case said the new DA refused to bring charges against Trump because he feared they would lose in court.

Americans care more about their pockets and personal well being rather than an attempted coup. Because Americans, mainly white Americans are fickle as fukk.

Trump still has Midwestern appeal needed to win key states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin that no other possible 2024 Dem has except Biden. Big Gretch has some as the Governor or Michigan. I can't confirm she has enough. And she's a woman which works against her. You don't win the Presidency if you lose the midwest. Ask Hilary Clinton.

They can flex on him if they want, Trump still has the republican voters base in the palm of his hands and the GOP will fall in line like bytches if he threatens to run third party.

They did it to themselves trying to defend all his bullshyt during his presidency, Now Trump owns that party.
