I just want to see the final fight between the hero and the Sephiroth looking villain. That’s all I remember from the anime :yeshrug:

looks very faithful. dont know if i really need to watch a faithful retelling of it, but it does look good.

Yeah I would prefer they change some stuff up, just for the sake of not being predictable. It kind of kills the suspense if you already know exactly how the story will end.

The showrunner already said they are switching some stuff up. Its already evident in the apparent lack of the inclusion of Edward that this isn’t a shot for shot remake.

The problem with this remake, is that there's no point in going "the other way" when you borrow, literally, all of the characters and backstory. This is essentially what killed the ending of FF7 remake for me. Don't add, don't subtract, just make it more presentable. Obviously CB is plenty beautiful to look at, but here, it just looks cheesy. The main problem is that plenty of other shows did it better; Altered Carbon for one, and the legendary Firefly, for another. From the casting to the character rapport, its lost. Spike wanting to kill Faye constantly? Faye being wacky? Their 1 v 1 fight is already cringe. This is the point that Watanbe wanted to get across with the expression of "cool"...its not about everyone fighting or trying to look badass. Its about characters being nonchalant when shyt hits the fan.

Firefly (Mal in particular) is a perfect example of remaining calm under fire....or stabbing. The characters react naturally later, but rather be snarky fukks due to the impending doom. That's lost in the latest trailer. From tone to inflection, I don't feel Noir, I feel comedy-action.

Part of me is worried it'll be too much of the original and I'll know everything that's going on.
Part of me is excited because I can put my non-anime watching friends and family onto one of my favorite tv shows if this captures the original plot well enough.
And then part of me is just really curious about the episode where they're all drugged on the ship having psychedelic experiences.

I think it’s a little too campy and it doesn’t look like the fight scenes will do the anime justice. Doesn’t look terrible just not good enough to interest me fully when the anime is still top tier

It would be virtually impossible to match the anime fight scenes with live action unless they had a $200 Million dollar budget and went full CGI, which would look fake as hell anyway. I like the way their making the fighting at least true to life and putting the majority of the budget towards the look and feel of the overall universe of Bebop
