Story completely falls apart in the finale.

In the book, it's Izzy who sets the fire and runs away to Pittsburgh, where Mia's parents live. Of course, she's the most obvious suspect in both the book and show. Lexie, Moody, and Trip make the least sense. Izzie is the personality-type that would burn her own belongings, along with the whole house. Not the other 3 kids. The whole screaming match between Lexie and Elena was ridiculous.

Mia got off easy too. If anything Pearl finding out Elena was using her should've driven her to want to go to New York more, not reconcile with Mia.
you wildin. the finale was great TV. series overall will get mad emmys

Nah Izzy checked Moody on his BS too. Moody is one of those "nice guys" in training. And Bill checked Izzy on her petulant childish behavior ,and her "woe is me" routine. She did need to grow the fukk up.

I just finished watching the finale and yea you’re 100% correct :pachaha:

Amazing finale and I don’t know how you would do a second season of this if that’s the plan.

My girl is into this show. I don’t really fw it.

Too Shea Butter Twitterish for my taste

Only 30 minutes into this show and already :mjpls::mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:

Same here. My girl love these kind of shows. I can’t stand Kerry Washington. She loves playing these :mjpls: ass roles.

I felt the same way in the beginning, typical :mjpls: but by the end when things come together :ohhh::ehh:

This show is entertaining. Reece kinda sucks like usual tho
Reese did great acting when it came to playing the character as passive aggressive, condescending cac women bs but I felt like she didn't bring it in the last episode. I can see Cate Blanchett or Sandra Bullock body that role. Even Charlize Theron even tho I dont F with her :mjpls:

Are we? There is hardly anyone to root for in this series. I mean maybe Bill?
I felt the same way, I sympathized with izzy the most cuz even tho she was the weird one in the family she was cool and tried not to be like them
Bill was on that :mjpls:. "Why did you hire and rent to them without checking references" :mjpls:
Let another man almost suck on your wife's breast milk brehs :lolbron:

I would have liked to see izzy go to Pittsburgh at the end
but I think this series was well done and is my favorite so far this year ahead of better call saul :whoa: . I think these are the type of roles women in hollywood should play, not that women trying to be men and beating everyone up. I might have to cop the book. This story was piff.

Agree but not sure how it will do at the award shows. The hollywood crowd and the U.S. cac population like black people F'd up and relying on white people.
at the end kerry and the daughter flipped it on em and came out pretty resilient...
plus the asian lady stole her baby back :ooh::blessed:

Mia and Pearle just travel and tear cac families apart ... one city at a time :ohlawd:

Finale was good.

:russ::lolbron::pachaha::mjlol:...:obama:

I liked this ending better than the book ending stated in this thread. Izzy being the cause of the fire was too easy. The other kids finally acknowledging their mom is a monster and acting out was more fitting for the series to me. I also didn't want the cliche ending of Izzy ending up with Mia. The only thing that kind of bothered me was Pearl getting over her issues with Mia seemingly abruptly but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Pearl & Trip did Moody dirty, and idgaf about the feminist way they tried to make it seem right/okay. That's the biggest bro code violation of all-time to fw a chick that your literal brother was tryna get with. Pearl ass knew what she was doing too. Moody was putting the puzzy on a pedestal, though. Hopefully this teaches his ass, and he grows up knowing how to deal with bytches accordingly.

The ending definitely fell apart and made no sense.
IDGAF how mad they were at their evil mom, ain't enough suspended disbelief in the world to make me buy the idea that they burned that house down like that.

As far as the spoiler, it’s spoiled white kids being spoiled white kids, so honestly it was HIGHLY realistic :pachaha:

So contrived. A lot of great pieces, acting, themes, but what a struggle to get through heavy handed soap opera styled melodrama, wrapped in timely issues on race, privilege, class.

3.5 episodes in and I tapped out. I liked the stuff with the kids, and there is a lot of talent here, but a mess of a story. The baby subplot was unbearable. And absurd.

And why did Kerry Washgington act like she had never had a conversation with anyone in her life with Reece's character?

Pearl never gave any indication that she wanted to be anything more than friends with Moody. There were obvious signs he was friend zoned and he ignored them. And she had eyes for Trip from the very beginning.

As far as the spoiler it doesn't get anymore realistic than that for me. Typical, spoiled white rich kid shyt. You must have never known any in real life.

1. If you don’t see what Pearl & Trip did as foul, then I don’t know what to tell you.

2. That’s a cute statement. I literally when to a prep school with entitled rich white kids, but imma let you cook, breh.

If what Pearl did wasn't foul, she wouldn't have hid the truth from Moody.

I went to a university with a bunch of rich white kids. Even though plenty of them are dipshyts, they're not all arsonists. They're not burning all of their own shyt at a whim.
