ending still was good imo.. didnt force the narrative of izzie being the worse kid.. i think it showed 2 things.. the siblings unifying in disbelief of mom and the privilege that they would be fine in burning the house.

i wanted more answers after it was over and didnt realize it was a book.. it would make make sense to end it there.

I read the book, off bat this series isn’t as good, I’m not in love with the casting nor the way the lead actresses are playing elana and Mia (mia wasn’t this dry and serious in the book). I’m also puzzled as to why they gave the breh this big ass high top? they ain’t have no black person in casting to let them know nikkas wasn’t rocking high tops in 97/98


Edit: were Kerry’s teeth always this big? And they made Mia a bytch in this show, wow, that’s too bad, this is no where near her character in the book

Dope show, not perfect, extremely uncomfortable at times but the talent and how things started barreling forward toward the end is well worth sticking through it.

Just watched this with my wiz on the humble. I dug it, this was high drama lots going on. Some of the acting was meh and the ending was unbelievable I would have preferred the book ending to what we got.
The comments about Kerry Washington and her quivering lip were on point. My girl was very annoyed by it. This cemented in my mind she's not that good of an actress.
Second season would be a vastly different show, would have to be multiple stories that don't cross over.
I give this season a 7.5/10.
