Yep. Cats might be eye rolling at me keep saying this insider type shyt but there was a big debate amongst the crew before Sleepers dropped as to whether or not Khrysis got 9th on there. Even 9th thought Khrysis had the better batch on there from what I remember.

He shut the whole album down when he took the 1st 18 secs of this

Slowed it down and knocked it out wit this

Yeah if had any complaints about this it would be

1. Basically Every hook is singing
2. I wish there was 1 or 2 joints that were just going hard on the bars with no gems or themes, like Hiding Place.

But neither is a serious complaint. This is just great music.

Why does everybody hate 9th all of a sudden?? :laff:

Being a "hip hop historian" but ignoring his own history/contributions to the breakup

Spending all his energy on rhapsody other hijinks with jamala, see that Jozeemo thread

Using the same snare 900 times and getting too formulaic tho i think he's succeeded in escaping that trap

Causing fans to complain about this project when it's not like Krysis didn't have the hottest beat on The Minstrel Show anyway.

They are but every skit is a part 2 to previous skits on their sophomore album. If you aren’t a Minstrel Show fan I imagine every one of these skits seems either pointless or even confusing and dumb. If you liked Minstrel Show then each one makes you
:mjcry:

even still, on their own, the skits are funny :russ:

Krysis>>>>Nicolay>>>>>DJ Spinna>>>>>9th

Lets keep it honest, 9th peaked with The Listening and that was because the sound was unusual in a time of sped up soul samples and double layered "futuristic" sounding beats. Once Krysis went ":dwillhuh::ohhh:I can actually freestyle my beat patterns over a soul sample" It was a wrap :ehh:

For the real beat nerds out here, Nottz is Khrysis' biggest influence. Khrysis even had to :whoa: and go "Okay I don't wanna end up biting this guy."

Khrysis did this joint below and it sounds a lot like Nottz.

But my overall point is after the mid 00's Khrysis experimented a lot and got heavily influenced by Dilla, Nottz, Oh No, and went way more outside of the soul sample bag that 9th was in. Khrysis will sample video games, movies, Australian folk records, hell he even sampled a collection of his own shoes hitting various solid objects for some kick drums he used...that's why on The Shining Sean Boog says "ask Khrysis bout the kick in the track. Because Khrysis literally used a shoe and kicked it against the wall and sampled that to make the kick drum. But Khrysis put me onto Nottz in like 2006 and ever since then I can tell he's a huge influence. Nottz also samples a lot of stuff that's not your average soul sample.
