other than producing on the black album and getting positions he doesnt really deserve like being on the Grammy hip hop committe. What has he done to be acting like a diva?
I wanna be fair to him. He did the joint for Jay. He walked the line between mainstream and underground, doing singles for destinys child and doing street joints for Bleek, etc. All of this while invigorating the careers of Murs, Jean Grae, Skyzoo (doing full albums for each) and giving Buckshot a look at a solo career beyond Black Moon.

He did help keep the sampling sound alive, and in a pre-social media/pre-Wikipedia era he helped younger hip-hop fans that liked his beats to go back and check out his 5 big inspirations; Pete, Preem, Dilla, RZA, and Beatminerz.

He influenced a generation of do it yourself producers by showing them you didn’t need any fancy hardware to make beats...just a computer.

He also produced literally hundreds of songs for the half dozen non-LB rappers of the Justus League and a good 3 or 4 closely affiliated acts. He was still a workhorse.

Hevdid another good hundred beats in 2010 and 2011 alone for his label, Jamla. Whenever he’s got free time he’s still making beats...sometimes 10 a day.

Plus the man does know his history. He comes from a family of teachers and he’s a good person to have teaching about hip-hop in college.

I’m bombing on 9th in this thread but only in the context of him not giving a fukk about LB and some LB fans still begging for his attention on some abusive spouse type toxic relationship shyt.

Dope Ill check out his work
:mjlol: Good luck in your search.

For real though, there’s basically only two things you’ll find outside of YouTubing his name and finding loosies...The Authentic mixtape from 2005 and Not Your Average Joe EP from 2008. Both are probably hard to find at this point so inbox me if you can’t find those.

I always thought Scudda was nice. His demeanor was kinda like Prodigy’s, on sum ‘Ion give a fukk’ type shyt.
Funny you mention that. (@old boy you might dig this)

When Murs, Phonte, and 9th made this song, they low key wanted the beat to be on some Havoc/Hell on Earth type shyt. To cap off the Mobb Deep vibe they asked Joe to write a short little Mobb type hook and to channel Prodigy when he rapped it.

Ayo we animals ready for war destined for combat/
Play the cd or tape and then rewind that/

Random question do you know anything about the story behind Phonte and 9th linking up to make Band Practice Pt 2? Thats my all time favorite 9th/Te collab and I know it was made shortly after the beef was deaded but not much else.

Also why wasn’t Pooh on the Wonder Years?

skits are a one trick pony
They are but every skit is a part 2 to previous skits on their sophomore album. If you aren’t a Minstrel Show fan I imagine every one of these skits seems either pointless or even confusing and dumb. If you liked Minstrel Show then each one makes you
:mjcry:

Phonte and 9th deaded whatever beef they had in 2011, and Phonte, 9th, and Evidence all dropped albums on the same day that fall featuring each other. 9th did four beats on Phonte’s album and Phonte was on a couple Wonder Years tracks.

Pooh and 9th were not on good terms then, although they did do one track a couple years later in 2013, and Pooh and Phonte both appeared on the first 9th Wonder/Jamla compilation album in 2014, although both songs they appeared on were produced by Khrysis.
