its funny, before streaming really became prominent, I had pretty much thrown in the towel on Hip Hop :francis:

the last couple of years I realized that Hip Hop is as good as its ever been if you get past all the bullshyt that is being pushed up front. 2019 keeps on giving. its good to see a group with the fanbase of LB give back to their fans, you can tell its about more that a check with them.

my take after listening to this album completely is that, this is a VERY good album, sonically, lyrically, etc...

however, this is different from any other LB project. this is GROWN MAN music. I dont know how much I will listen to it because it is maybe too polished for what I like during most of the moods I may be in. it may be too polished and smooth for some hip hoppers tastes. on the other hand, this album could gain them some new fans.

dope album regardless, nothing wack on it...I just wish personally there were some of the older LB type tracks like Get Back. in the vein its in, its great tho and definitely cohesive. will make me go back and listen to No News...which I kinda skimmed thru.
Yeah if had any complaints about this it would be

1. Basically Every hook is singing
2. I wish there was 1 or 2 joints that were just going hard on the bars with no gems or themes, like So Help Me God on Phonte’s last album.

But neither is a serious complaint. This is just great music.

Who are we talking about here?
Missed the post. That producer list is crazy dope for an unreleased album. What artist is this tho? Thanks.
Joe Scudda. LB features him on their only major label video, he was on The Shield on FX. Had a lane. But just never dropped an album. Ironically his worst verse was the one on the LB single, Lovin’ It. Dude had some good songs though.

Why does everybody hate 9th all of a sudden?? :laff:
People don’t hate him but there’s just a feeling of frustration.

Here’s some cliff notes.

- He chose to distance himself from the group after the listening, before Minstrel Show even dropped.

- he didn’t want to tour with the group and he stopped giving them dibs on his top shelf beats.

- they booted him in 2006/2007

- they reunited for a show last fall (2018) and he was welcome to be a part of this reunion, but for whatever reason, decided he wasn’t into it.

- the show goes on

It’s not that anyone hates him. But he LB hasn’t been a top priority for him since 2003, and most of the ppl that think LB isn’t LB without 9th either don’t know this info or just love the listening so much that they hate the idea of him not being involved.

How does one buy this album? I really would like a physical copy, but I doubt they're in production yet. They need my money.

other than producing on the black album and getting positions he doesnt really deserve like being on the Grammy hip hop committe. What has he done to be acting like a diva?

I think it's most due that back in the day it was like 9th was the centerpiece if LB and when he left a lot felt they would fall off but it made them stronger and they showed they really dont need 9th so now at this point it's like while him being there would be perfect but in reality he really not needed and after listening to the album you really dont notice his absence

We don’t really notice his absence bc a few of the beats sound like something he’d make today, tbh. I’m happy they’re back too, but I won’t front on homie, like he ain’t shyt, or like he’s a cookie cutter trap producer that held Tay & Pooh hostage nshyt lol

My dude had a solo album produced mostly by Alchemist, 9th, Khrysis, Sid Roams, and Evidence. Features by all sorts of dope cars. Sean P and Damn near everyone in BCC. Gibbs. Way more. Can’t believe it never managed to leak or drop.

Glad he’s happy though. I think he owns a bar near Atlanta.

I always thought Scudda was nice. His demeanor was kinda like Prodigy’s, on sum ‘Ion give a fukk’ type shyt.

Glad everybody recognizes Sleepers as the dopest solo project. I also think Elzhi and Te's verses on "Hiding Place" warped people's outlook on Pooh. He actually BODIES that song and completely sets the tempo.

With that said....

:salute: May God bless our nation and this station
