NBA 2K8 was probably the last 2K that I really loved. NBA 2K9 was good, but they made playing defense a lot harder in that game which enabled more cheesing to be possible.

I believe 2K8 was when they introduced the lock on defense feature and essentially made it extremely hard to just go 1 on 1 on offense, it forced you to actually play sim basketball and run plays. And it actually rewarded players who did so. They don't make them like they used to

Sonic - It was 2d like Mario but felt so much more edgy lol
MarioKart - Probably the most fun I'd had on a multiplayer
Madden - Its Madden lol
Zelda: OoT - Held the spot for greatest game I ever played for almost 20 years. A masterpiece
007 (N64) - fun times
Super Smash Brothers - High school years on the back porch until 2am
Soul Calibur - Dope game
Resident Evil - Loved this game and series
Halo - nostalgia with my boys on game nights, so many epic battles
Metal Gear Solid 2 (Sons of Liberty) - played this freshman year of college, just remember finally having the world to myself and this game was part of that
Wii Sports - I know that sounds crazy but I love this game lol
Mario Odyssey - First game my daughters could play and beat. Incredible watching them solve puzzles. Tear up just thinking about my girls mane
Zelda: BoTW - outside of breezing through Mario Odyssey, this was my real come back to gaming. Another masterpiece

The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo- This game started it all for me. My grandma was a gamer too, Nintento stan, but instead of Mario games like Zelda, Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers, Popeye were her games. But the Zelda series was her favorite. I grew up a link stan #1

Sonic, Sega- My 1st solo system to myself. My bro got a SNES the same xmas but the Sega was mines. My go to, Sonic. Spent a lot of time playing this solo.

Tecmo Super Bowl, SNES- My brother and cousins played this regularly as did I. But on the SNES. We would run tourneys and I was damn good considering I was playing people 4 years older than me. This was my favorite football game and Buffalo was my squad

Mortal Combat, Sega - 1st person on my block with this. Had all the kids in the neighborhood over playing this piff. Wasn't a Street Fighter head till I got outta college. My fighter growing up was Mortal Combat and Liu Kane and Scorpion were my guys

Mario 64, N64- I remember in Jr High this game defined my 8th grade year. I remember that I would be on the phone with females while playing this. I would play it and just talk to females. I spent hella time playing this game and never passed it. Just fukked around. The Nostalgia...

Ocarina of Time, N64- My alltime favorite game. Defines my freshman year of high school. When I wasnt playing sports or chasing hoes....i was on this.

Mario Kart 64, N64- Was unbeatable, or so I thought. Ran thru family members, everyone in the neighborhood. Even beat the GamePro Mario Circuit Super Elite time. Played all 4 circuits on a hyped up match against some of my football teammates including 1 cat that was as hyped as me. We had a crowd in the living room. I came in 2nd in all 4 circuits...i couldnt beat him. He just kept telling me, 'Better learn to hop'....that was his style....i was a slider

Microsoft Flight Simulator, PC- My love for aviation was evident with this

I got a PS2 but only played sports games and didn't take it to college with me. Was too focused on academics hoes and sports. Didn't return to gaming till around 2010

Modern Warfare 2, Xbox- My return to non sports gaming. My 1st, 1st person shooter. Its part of the reason I started posting on instead of lurking. I ran with the Xbots on here.

Burnout 3 is the greatest racing game ever made hands down. The fun I had with that game

The newest game I would add to the list that isn't on there is Hotline Miami. One of the only times I've been wowed by a game this entire decade, the other time was The Last of Us

I'll do "firsts" that defined my love of certain genres.
The Ford Simulator - First video game I ever played. Played it on an IBM 286 with an amber screen. I was hooked from that day forward.

Double Dragon II - First co-op brawler game and still one of the best from the era. Played for hours with my cousin.

Dragon Warrior III - My first "serious" RPG.

Super Mario Land - First Gameboy game and first (easy) platformer. I had Prince of Persia before, but that shyt was hard as hell.

DOOM -

Age of Empires - Loved these games. I never had the patience for the 4x games like Civilization, but this was a great mix of RTS and 4x.
