I feel like it could go either way. If the lion gets the gorilla by the throat, it's over. But if the gorilla can fend off the lion from that, he could probably snap his neck.

Best answer so far really. They both have their advantages so the gorilla for the defensive but the lion for the offensive.

I think a gorilla would be able to repel a lion in a way no other animal could.

Gorilla and it aint even close. There is a reason why you don't see much video of gorillas being hunted by wild animals.

After some quick research,
hrfo024.png
a Lion don't want no smoke from a Gorilla.

The largest gorilla you will most likely find in the wild is 525 lbs - 550 lbs and 6ft 3 - 6ft 6 with a 8ft - 9ft wing span
The largest lion would be around 525 lbs - 575 lbs with around a 7ft standing height with a 4ft limb length

An absolute beast gorilla:
Intelligent enough to manipulate its environment, use tools, learn sign language and so on
Run at 30mph and is agile
Lift 1500lb easily with one arm. lift over 3000lb above their head and throw it
Apparently jump 8 ft (never officially recorded)
Bite force over 1300 psi (more than a lion)
Has huge forearms so powerful that they can grip and hang from a tree with one arm for hours
Pull with a force over 5000lbs.

A beast lion:
Dumb as rocks except for advanced pack hunting tactics
Run at 50mph but only for a very short while and would be exhausted
Jump 9ft high
Bite force of over 600 psi
Pull 1000lbs
Slap a 2000lb Ox to Bolivia

Seeing as a gorilla has hands, and feet that are similar to hands, they can utilize its strength more. A gorilla has Jui Jitsu, wrestling and boxing. How can a Lion counter that? (Not really but you know what I mean) Plus Silverbacks are just older gorillas so they have that old man strength and fighting experience.

A Lion has few fighting tactics and can only exert itself for a very small amount of time, which is why they ambush and try to immobilize their prey quickly. A lion would stick its claws in and try to bite the neck to either suffocate, break the spine or just destroy it. Have you seen Gorilla traps:usure: If the Gorilla somehow let a lion get to that position, a 550lb Gorilla , it would reach back before any bite, lift the lion up and literally tear him into pieces.

Gorillas are great defensively but for the offensive.... Lions just need that one good shot.

I've seen this before!!! It's the GOAT lion documentary lions and hyenas eternal enemies. This also shows you don't underestimate a pack hunter's intelligence. They fukked that matriarch up and killed her successor over some territory beef. The hyenas got the fukk out when they heard the lionesses call their king.

Lions are especially ruthless against hyenas. Sometimes, a male lion would just break the back of a hyena and leave it to die a slow painful death.

Can't blame lions though, hyenas are scum.:pacspit:

I rest my case.

Sorry babe that was a typo. I meant to say sleep doesn't give them energy but does replenish that massive energy spent on the explosive burst of energy that they use to kill. Imagine how energy consuming it is to take down a buffalo? They could be fighting for a long time-maybe up to an hour fighting an animal that weighs over a ton.

The other picture of them comparing what a leopard did to a chimp doesn't apply because a chimp is not a gorilla.

My original argument has always be

A gorilla is STRONG enough to break whatever limb it grabs onto on a lion. It's STRONG enough to pull a lion off or do significant damage to the lion before the lion could kill with the bite.

A chimp is not strong enough to do this to a leopard. A chimp is dead with a bite to the neck. A gorillas neck is thicker than a Lions teeth, that wouldn't be an instant kill.

Your in here acting like because u saw one video of one gorilla, injured by a leopard that that means leopards run up on silverbacks daily.

My argument has always been that unless a lion can get the instant kill, it would open itself up massive damage and I don't see a lion keep up an attack after a bite that breaks a leg or a grab that dislocates a joint.

I do believe a lion is a better killer, but I don't think it's body has the damage threshold of a gorilla. And a lion bite is not breaking a gorillas bones because their muscles are too thick and dense.

nikka the picture clearly says a full grown leopard and gorilla died fighting eachother, and a Leopard is half the size of a Silverback. A Lion washes this. A cat will not lose to something the same size as it. Why do you think Leopards fukk up chimps? A Lion will fukking annihilate this, theyre on average the same size or heavier than Silverbacks.

...I just see the lion (clawing and thrashing) getting held off with one arm and getting its skull bashed by the other arm. Like someone sad earlier...the gorilla having TWO powerful arms is :wow:

If you're the same size as a big cat, you're food:francis:. This is the case everywhere in the world Big cats roam. If a Male Lion comes across a Silverback, the Silverback is done.
