He's always been wack. It's just the quality of rap is so bad people accepted anything.
Two songs using metaphors as the whole concept of the song. What's wrong with comparing them?
How could you compare Dr. Carter to I Gave You Power?
And Yes, if you were a hip hop head 12-13years ago, you probably like either the carter 1/2 and dedication 2 then thought wtf is this bullshyt for everything after that.
I thought I was the only 1... Hes had some good verses, and good songs at times. but for the most part them bars only seemed to be hot to nikkaz from the south who never listened to nikkaz really spittin bars. i used to be likeThis. I said he was trash back in 05
I haven't been a fan of Wayne since before he technically became "good".
I loved the HB's, I loved TBIH...then all of a sudden (Gillie) he started biting Jay Z and becomes this lyrical east coast darling...I got off the train right around C2.
Not to say he hasn't had good verses or songs since then but I just don't think it was a natural progression from shyt like this:
Like if Juvie all of a sudden started trying to rap like Nas I'd be like...
Maybe I'm just being too nostalgic but whatever....I still don't appreciate that bytch ass nikka throwing drinks at him at the concert. Disrespectful little fukk, you bought the ticket, enjoy the fukking show or leave, don't muck it up for everybody. They should have turned his punk ass upside down and emptied his pockets.
The Booth never fails. Now everybody is trying to say they were on board the Wayne hate train first.
"I thought he was trash back in 2011."
"Nah fam, I was telling nikkas on the block dude was garbage back in 2008."
"Son, dude been garbage since 1999, wobble dee wobble dee."
"nikka, I was in the hospital cleaning the toilets when Wayne was born and he came out the womb garbage and told his mother that."
"Me, Malcom and Martin had a discussion on how wack that nikka was in 1963."
I heard that new DJ Khaled joint again today and Wayne is just.....awful
He's almost like a caricature. A joke. Its almost like he can get away with anything just because he's "Lil' Wayne".
Whatever he says, the masses are gonna, specifically the young masses who see themselves in Lil' Wayne.
Ya see, Lil' Wayne is a man-child. This is why he'll never be respected and seen in the same light as a Jay and Nas. He doesn't have a manly vibe/energy about him at all. Everything about Lil Wayne screams "little boy". At 30+ he's still acting like a little kid:

This shyt appealed to us when we were younger but now those of us that grew up with Wayne are now in our 30s and we see through the BS.
Personally, I was never really into Wayne, but even the most die-hard Wayne fans I know are pretty muchwhen it comes to Wayne now that we're older.
That's how some nikkas always felt aint nobody rewriting history
"I'm so muddafukkin high, I could eat a star"

Dudes on here really kicking knowledge. Wayne didnt have a natural progression.
Just trying to figure out why he singling out Wayne.Yeah breh they were all trash. Something hard to believe about that?![]()
He really is a martian and out of this world because his career is just like that.
The fact that when he dies he will be crowned the GOAT of the millennial generation says alot about the trash rappers my peers had in the 2000s. He is a singles rapper and none of his albums are on a high level at all. Dudes know this that is why every Wayne fan loves to bring up those Drought Mixtapes to justify how ill he is. Cause they know he is wack overall.
Look at this fool above me that just compared a song like Dr Carter" to I Gave You Power by Nasir Jones...you see this nonsense?
