I had all my characters leveled and kiryus party was fully equipped with the best gear but Ichiban party all had gear that was 1 tier behind and I didn’t realize til halfway through that gauntlet up to the kraken. I made it to that boss but I got hard stopped cuz I just couldn’t do enough damage before that thing fukked my party up and had me using items and wasting turns 
It was easier to get through after that but still that kraken boss may have been the hardest one I fought in the turn-based games
