American Gangster is good. But there's something about it that feels a bit forced. You have a 40 year old multi-millionaire talking about selling crack. It was a nice throwback to RD but it was still a bit awkward.

Life Is Good is Nas baring his soul on record. Taking about failed relationships, fatherhood, growing old, losing touch with his roots but still showing his optimism and why life is worth living. Basically, it's the type of record 40 year old Hov should be making, but either can't or won't.

Life Is Good raises the bar for veteran rappers. It shows that hip hop doesn't necessarily have to be a young man's game. But you first have to grow up and at times it seems that Hov is stilling living his second childhood. And that's why Nas will always be better.

It was a 40 year old talking about selling crack in the past tense, looking back with hindsight using a movie as a vehicle around which to frame the story. Do you not understand tense and context? :why:

If you can't see the difference between Jays approach on RD to AG then you're skimming.

On tracks like New Day and Glory he's shown that he has the presence of mind to look inwards if it occurs to him. He hasn't had the kind of heartbreak that Nas has, so he hasn't got much to mine in that regard.

There are plenty of reasons why you could argue Nas will always be better than Jay but these aren't them.

AG no question.

The storytelling in that album is freakin superb.

The Roc Boys had to be one of the greatest "look at my clique" tracks ever created

I can skip no song on AG except Hello Brooklyn.

And Party Life is such grown folk music and his 3rd verse on that track is insane

But ya personally AG for me it stuck out more for me

Nas is my man but .
Still the poll isn't completely stupid, like most jay-z vs nas polls.
