How many competitions have you done?

I just started training at an actual gym. Still a no stripe white belt.

Any top 3 finishes so far?

Ive done two competitions as a white belt.

3rd place in the first comp., didn’t qualify in the second due to some controversy with ref. He signaled and called for the match to stop, my opponent didn’t and the ref allowed the match to continue. I couldn’t come back from it

Was planning to compete again in May but corona blew everything up

Professor started a 6 am Class this morning.

The game is really starting to slow down for me. I steamrolled another White Belt this morning. Got my 1st armlock submission. Got that one pretty quick, then we reset n he gassed. Then moved on to a Blue Belt. Defended his Armbar attempt, then I went for a Triangle, then transitioned to an Armbar. I missed on both. We had a nice lil scramble and I ended up in is guard. I passed, then he gassed n quit. Went against the WB again. Got him with a Kimura, then a Arm Triangle Choke (which is my go to).

Went back at 1230. Went with a Brown Belt, we both got had good positions, but went the full 5 mins w/ no subs. Then I went with a kid. Just tried tokeep moving. Then class was pretty over. I was real disappointed. 2 guys from Brazil was there. One of them is a big time, Abu Dhabi Champ. Wrestling Champ, Judo, n BJJ Black Belt. MFer was HUGE. Reminded me of Big Foot Silva.

They gonna be here for about a week, so hopefully I can catch they again.

If u get the loop from the knees

Grab the back of their collar with your free hand and push them down so you can bring your leg over the back of their head and remove the hand in their collar. U can keep it on the upper back area for added support. You will probably be on your knee on your other leg. So one foot planet and the other on the knee like a lunge

Continue pushing their head down with your leg while pulling up on the loop.

When I do the pull my stomach is facing the ear on the opposite side of their head.

For the tap.

Mmmmmm more old man game. I enjoy wrist locks. Mainly because I've as bad at finishing triangles. But with that arm right there attacking it while going for the triangle made me land more triangles. Coach said triangles take their toll on the knees so a just the lock over the shoulders to breaks wrists and elbow clowns in the face

The game in this video. :wow:

The earliest lesson in BJJ for me was that triangles are suited for cats with really long legs. It’s no effort at all.

My favorite submission when I was a white belt was the Americana, Kimura came second. After that I started headhunting with the Guillotine. You catch a lot of people in it during scrambles. Especially in the gi. Catch their neck, put them in your full guard, if they try to roll out and you end up in mount it’s even better.

I never graduated to the guillotine although I need to. I just don't want to use alot of strength and save my energy for sweeping, passing and control.

Then again there's other guillotines to use.

I want mount or knee on belly for the armbar or arm triangle.y subs usually come after a pin

Yea the Guillotine does take a lot of energy out of you if it’s not tight. If someone gets out it’s a waste and your arms are fried.

I love the arm triangle, head placement and pressure has to be right though. Also the position of your hips and legs to get it deep. People think it’s a sudden choke but it’s about building pressure.
