A knee injury took me make out right before a tournament at the end of February. After that life just piled on. Couldn't run, I've gotten really fat, it's hard for me to get people to roll with me at the end of class, that's how fat I've gotten. This cascade has been crazy and I'm seriously considering quitting but my conscious won't let me. I know there's more for me in BJJ. I can feel it, it's not time to quit yet. I'm barely training but I think if I can make it through this storm a lot of free time will open up to where I can train consistently again.
sounds like you training with some pussies brah

Been rolling w/ my boy after work for bout a month, or a lil longer.

So far, its been a lot of fun. Right now, Im just to big and strong for him, but hes teaching me piece by piece.

Today a group of us met up at the work gym. Rolled with a brown belt. Dude was legit af.

Debating on joining a spot close to my house to really get the skills down.

Not sure tho.

How often do you guys train? How many days a week and for how many hours?
3 days a week minimum to improve

2 days to be stagnant and

1 day mmmm I guess e for effort

Zero days - better be doing surfboard burpees to maintain conditioning .

After layoffs ur brain is moving ahead of your body and this is when ur going to get injured making yourself do what you were doing in peak shape while.being flabby

My boy been on our sessions after work. Only rolled like 3-4 times in the last month, or so.

Think Imma join this join gym close to my house. $800 for 6 months doesn't sound to bad.

If, I join soon, Imma set a goal to roll in this tournament on 8/1.

Well see how it goes.

1-3 days per week with about 45-55 sessions per.

Mostly sparring, with some teaching moments thrown in here in there.

3x a week...2 gi...1 no-gi....then I will double on a Tuesday and do an AM and PM evening class.

If my body is fatigued, I take a few days rest to recover and then back at it. I actually feel great taking as I am refreshed mentally.

Joined today. Went pretty well.

Everyone kept asking either how long I've been training, or am I a former wrestler.

Body is tired af right now. Didnt almost 2 hrs this morning after work, then 90 mins tonight.

Not a bad deal. $93 a month for 2 sessions a week. If I can hit those 2 sessions most weeks and continue training after work with my boy, that will be a lot of mat time.

I wanna drop some weight and compete in the 205 and under weight class on 8/1.

Did my 2nd class last night. Was open mat. Not many ppl were there, but Brown Belt took his time to teach us a lot of things.

1st roll was with a Purple Belt, smaller guy with NoGi, while I had a Gi. Controlled him on the ground pretty well for about 5-6 mins. Mfer was quick n slippery. I commented on his quickness, he commented on my strength. I tried a Sub, or 2, but didn't come close. He tried a few armbars, but I escaped. He finally got a super tight AB in and I had to tap.

2nd roll was with another White Belt. Bigger guy, but just not really fast, or strong enough, while our skill might be about even. Got two Subs in fairly quick. 1 armbar n 1 kimura. He did scramble at 1 point and took my back tho. And I did notice more of his strength this time vs the 1st time we rolled.

Then I went with a Blue Belt. Hes a smaller guy too, so I was able to control him. A few times I would get into position and he would ask if I knew how to finish it. So, he would use those as teaching moments, then offer some resistance to see if I could land it. Got 3 Subs that way. But, I did manage to land a Kimura and something similar to a kimura from the Crucifix position. Felt good cuz I couldn't Sub him Monday night, but I bet buddy was still a lil tired from rolling with the BB.

Feeling like Ive lost a few pounds this week. 2 sessions after work w/ my boy, 2 gym sessions and one lil workout in the garage. All while eating much cleaner than I had been.

Next week should be good. Ill rest today. Hopefully, I can make it Sunday.

But next week should go something like this:

Mon: Workout in the Garage, or Rest/Yoga if I roll Sunday.
Tues: Roll after work.
Weds: Roll after work ad roll at gym in the evening.
Thurs: Roll at gym.
Fri: Walk/Yoga
Sat: Roll after work.
Sun: Roll after work.

Then Monday should be a double session. Roll in the morning after work, then roll in the evening at the gym.
