There are multiple definitions of racism, but if we go off of that, then every bodys racist still...what culture dominated more cultures in history? Whites, hence every culture is racists to them, the united kingdom via british are some of the smallest population of people on earth, yet the british empire is one of if not the strongest empire to date.

I was talking about Americans. I didn't think any other group of darkskinned people referred to themselves as black.




That's a big part of why I say we can't be racist. It's a reaction to a clearly racist situation.

A lot of what people call people out on for being racist isn't systematic though- that's the thing. If we are are playing semantics with what our people can be, the semantics apply across the board right? So if an Arab says black people like fried chicken- is that racist or prejudiced? If I don't want an Indian doctor because I think they might treat me differently because I heard they hate blacks, but I've never met the doctor on his own, am I being prejudiced or racist? If an Indian won't go into a black owned store because they think they'll get rude treatment, are they racist or prejudiced?

In one of my old highschool's for example the black principle, security guards & authorities would always side with Blacks & Ricans over Dominicans & Mexicans even though the off the boat Dominicans were just defending themselves from bigoted attacks. Take the San Jose riots as another example, if white people were chasing down Mexicans at political rallies do you think a Mayor could be ordering the police to stand down & allow these assaults to happen? On paper yes, but in practice reality is different. I don't buy into the institutional racist argument, power in America is not consolidated.

Every year over a 100 movies and books come out on black slavery, a oppressed black family, a struggle against white men, whens the last Polynesian similar movie? Whens the last native american movie? Whens the last any other race movie in america? Whens the last indian president? There are hundreds of black mayors, black governors, black business men...whens the last Polynesian or native american in the mainland that held those estates? You dont know your own history if you think your entitled to say america is black country. America is brown country anyone who says other wise is a fukking liar.

The question was, can blacks be racist. I provided the definition because in order to use a word to describe something, its important to know what the word means. Not a deflection. I would ask you to look up deflection in the dictionary but that's for cacs.

And to be honest, I only provided one definition of the word. The word has many definitions and blacks CAN apply to all of them. Why? Because black folks are not an inferior entity incapable of having power or looking down on others. Black folks like to rest on the 'institutional' definition because that's how we choose to define power for argument's sake. But all power isn't institutional, there's also cultural power and blacks are probably the gatekeepers of the richest, most admired, most imitated culture on the planet. We can talk about whether or not we HAVE used that power to look down on and discriminate against nonblacks but to say we CAN'T is dishonest.

Yes blacks can be racist. We can talk about whether its right, wrong, justified or unjustified later. I personally don't give a shyt. But I respect my people too much to say we CAN'T do anything. We might not be as bad as the devils but we can and have done it all. fukk the victim mentality.

No one's saying blacks in this country CAN'T personally be prejudiced or potentially racist against other nonwhites. I don't think anyone is really logically arguing against that. But if you and everyone else want to do all this mental gymnastics if blacks can be against whites that's on you to argue for pages on end.

Black people, like all people, are capable of believing in the nonscientific concept of "race," and that certain "races" are superior to other races. So by definition, they can be racist.

The idea that racism cannot exist without power is mostly just an academic tool to distinguish between different types of racism, not to categorically condone racist behavior. Because white people have more power in the USA, their particular brand of racism may be a more pressing concern than black people's brand of racism.

It's really not any more complicated than that.
