Of course, anyone can be racist. If you believe another race is inferior to you and discriminate on them based on that...you're racist. I always found the racism=power argument dumb because it assumes no black people have power. If you're a black business owner and refuse to hire someone because of their race, you're exerting power to propagate discrimination. Nothing wrong with hiring your own race or offering jobs directly to your community/race, every race does that to an extent. I'm talking about not hiring someone because you think Asian people are inferior for instance. That's wrong.

No race is off the hook here.

I'll give you an example. There is this dumbass rhetoric going through this thread where all black racism is reactionary and allowed. Okay, so let's say a black kid grows up in the burbs, goes to an all white school, gets called a ******, and gets bullied for being black. He's allowed to be racist, right? Fine, so let's reverse the roles. Some white kid goes to a school in the hood, gets called a p*ssy ass white boy on a daily basis, gets bullied, and then grows up to hate black people. Is he allowed to be racist? I mean, that's reactionary too, right? You can't have it both ways. "Black people can't be racist" is a stupid ass statement that not only isn't true, but is also low key racist against black people. It implies that black people are so infantile and powerless that "black racism" is equivalent to a child acting out.

Because it doesn't add up. White dude can go somewhere he doesn't have to deal with black people. Black people cannot go anywhere on this planet to escape white supremacy. We gonna keep going back and forth and y'all gonna keep minimizing racism to name calling and hurt feelings.

Racism comes in a million different forms, not just the institutionalized kind. There are multiple definitions of racism, but if we go off of that, then every bodys racist still...what culture dominated more cultures in history? Is this thread referring to African Americans or all black people in general? ?

I was talking about Americans. I didn't think any other group of darkskinned people referred to themselves as black.

Our feelings are usually a backlash from some form of mistreatment. Example: You'll never see a black American have genuine hate of Asian people, we will dislike how they treat black people however. Asians on the other hand hate blacks for racist made up reasons, like skin color

That's a big part of why I say we can't be racist. It's a reaction to a clearly racist situation.

People confuse institutional racism with racism. If it takes oppression to be racist, then asian, mexicans, indians etc. can't be racist either. And I know for damn sure black people won't agree with that.
