as much as I want to say Austin....cuz he my nikka...

I just HAVE to say HBK...just HANDS down....he IS the greatest of all time...to me

If we just talking In ring I agree, but dude was never that big of a draw and has virtually no crossover appeal.

The only acceptable answers to this question are Hogan, Austin, and Rock.

Hogan was THE face of the industry from the mid-80s til about 1990, came to Flair's company and took HIS belt (took Flair almost 2 years to get it back), then started another boom when the nWo took off

Austin pretty much saved the WWF from disaster when he got on top....and people got behind his character because they was fed up with they bosses and wanted to do to them what Austin was doing to McMahon. Austin coulda had a better crossover impact, but I dont think he wanted it (Dude was offered his own show on CBS, a spinoff of Nash Bridges)

Rocky in terms of becoming a star in the business had it worse than the three (Hogan was Hogan, Austin was Kliq-endorsed, while Shawn and them was jealous of Rock), but rose above all that by becoming a star faster than the other two. Rocky was THE superstar in the industry in 2000, and unlilke Hogan and Austin, you dont hear about him refusing to do a job or working with someone else. Also, his Hollywood impact is arguably better than the other two.

I dont know if I could put Flair in the discussion. Yes, he had the longer run on top, but most of that was during the territory years (even though you could see him every Sat. night at 6:05 on TBS)

flair solely on the fact that his promo game will never be fukked with

nor his work ethic in the ring.. nikka would do 2 close to ful 60 minute matches in one night at times....... :wtf:

edit: steve austin is the goat popularity wise

Went with Savage. When I was growing up EVERYONE had a Savage impression. The gruff voice over the top attire and mannerisms. Dude was the definition of a character. Can't recall a bad Savage match or promo. Favorite 90s feud with DDP. His matches were more dramatic than everyone else. And for a while there I thought bandaged ribs and a cast or brace were part of his attire, nikka stayed with something broken or wounded. :pachaha:

i feel...Hogan-Savage is to Austin-Rock for their eras

First era gets the nod for birthing it all though and for having more viewers than the attitude era

remember attitude era brought wrestling back...it still wasn't as big with the country as it was in the 80's

It's not arguably better, it just flat out is.

The biggest most successful movie Hogan has been in to date is Rocky III.

The biggest most successful film Austin has been in is probably the Longest Yard remake.

Both of them just had bit roles in those movies. The films they've starred in have been flops.

Comparatively Rock's last film was one of the biggest movies released last year.
