Austin and Rock came pretty damn close, though.

Actually they did back in 1998 and pretty much put his career back in circulation in 2002 when he was nowhere to be found.

As for Flair? He was great during a decade and a half. But he, like everyone else in WCW, piggybacked off of the NwO success to REALLy count amongst the giants of the industry. He took from Rogers to get his start and come up as well. There was only ONE Macho Man Randy Savage and you can't duplicate it. Bret Hart and those kind of guys were good for small heavyweight wrestlers but they didn't transcend the industry and put it on their back. Ever.
