Higher education stipends would be the way to go.

It would not only motivate a lot of black youth to try to go to college, but also remove the burden of paying for it.

This 10000000%.

This would better ALL African Americans. No question.

Do this for 4-5 generations of blacks, and you'd drastically minimize the amount of urban poverty there is like a motherfukka.

People need to understand that the reparation would be POINTLESS if it didn't help the community as a whole. The whole reason we WANT reparation is because we feel like we've been held back. Education would push us where we need to be. Lining your pockets with paper would not.

*shrug* So did mine; I wouldn't get shyt either. Reparations isn't about you my man, it's about all of us. What's good for the community is good for you and I. Our parents and grandparents understood this, we do not. That is why "we ain't solidified like that" anymore. shyt if it were left to our generation, there never would have been a civil rights movement.

yup, it's not about "us" it's about the community.....:pachaha: at land ....:comeon: not even the natives got their own random "land".. y'all REALLY want reservations too?

What really pisses me off is the fact that the Japs got reparations for being interred in WWII but we don't get shyt.

You mean to tell me living in a camp for 5 years is more worthy of reparations than 400 years of forced labor, beatings, rapes, discrimination, and lynchings? :what: That shyt really pisses me off.

On top of that the Indians get casinos and reservations and all types of other benefits too, but the blacks get nothing for what we went through.

what community tho? aint no such thing as a black community. there are black citizens but not a community that died awhile back.
gimme my money and let me build my own and do things for myself instead of waiting years and years for younger ones to do it. besides if you give people money they can put their kids thru school if they choose to. giving money gives the most options to benefit.

Free College education is all we need.
When it becomes a free for all, like in Canada, taxes would go way up. And test standards to get into the "good" schools would be much higher. Those who don't get in the good schools would get sent to attend lower-level colleges which would be like the community colleges and junior colleges.

1: "Hey bro, you get into Harvard University? It's free. It's going to be awesome."
2: "No, I didn't make the grade. I'm going to North Philadelphia Online Community College."
3: "Really? My homeless uncle is starting a job there as a professor. He's teaching a course called mizzath."
4: "Mizzath? What's that?"
5: "I don't know. He's got a 7th grade education."

You're not wrong about the community. I think the "black race" became the "black community" when we united behind a common goal (civil rights). After that, a lot of Americans (and blacks along with them) became complacent. The difference is, blacks are burdened by generational poverty, and left at each other's throats trying to scrape a life together.

I still don't think money would solve our problems though.

I think education would provide the youth with a common goal once again. I think it would motivate a lot of young blacks to do better than their parents. Over the course of a few generations, we could build a community of like-minded professionals, and shed the poverty and non-intellectual culture that holds our people back. If you just drop cash on the problem, I think you'd see a lot of us just basically giving it back. Sure, some of us would do good with it, but humans are short-sighted by nature. The reason the Chappelle skit was so funny was because it was true.
