wait has anyone ever watch Babylon 5 Creator and showrunner J. Michael Straczynski wrote 92 of the 110 episodes of Babylon 5, including all 44 episodes in the third and fourth seasons;according to Straczynski, a feat never before accomplished in American television.
writers was informed of the overarching storyline, enabling the show to be produced consistently under-budget. The rules of production were strict; scripts were written six episodes in advance, and changes could not be made once production had started.
Though conceived as a whole, it was necessary to adjust the plotline to accommodate external influences. Each of the characters in the series was written with a "trap door" into their background so that, in the event of an actor's unexpected departure from the series, the character could be written out with minimal impact on the storyline.
In the words of Straczynski, "As a writer, doing a long-term story, it'd be dangerous and short-sighted for me to construct the story without trap doors for every single character. ... That was one of the big risks going into a long-term storyline which I considered long in advance

I have a theory with Lost that if you watched it on DVD/Blu-ray or streamed it on Netflix after the series ended (like I did), you don't have as big a problem with the show as the people who watched it while it was on.
I just recently watched Lost for the 1st time ever this past April-June. It's now 1 of my favorite TV shows EVER! I initially only planned to stream the show, but by season 3 I realized I gotta own the complete series Blu-ray set.
I watched it live and I liked the ending. They wrote themselves into a corner though by saying the show had real answers and made it seem like it it would be scientific I was like ehh cause if the smoke mobster Wasnt nanoswarm I knew they didn't have a answer . But despite that the characters are what I was interested in sayid, jack, sawyer , Desmond , Charlie , Ben locke Hurley , Walt and mike, the kims , penny, Juliet etc ( not Kate though she turned annoying quick )The series finale made me cry
Maybe I'm just sensitive tho
i hated mr ecko

The way they treated that character alone emphasises how poor the writing of Lost was.
you're joking right? Mr Eko could've had a spinoff show imo.. that's how good his character and back story was. It was ashamed what they did too himi hated mr ecko
