its pretty obvious now they were making most of it up as they went along

trust, the creators were laughing their asses off at all the fans posting essays and theories on the show

looking back, i lost for sticking with this show :noah:

This was confirmed by David Fury.

Uhhh the Richard episode was one of the best episodes in the entire series, easily the highest point of the final season :childplease:

:aicmon: not of the series.

Top 5, season 6 was a B- though. But nothing is touching season 1 - 5.

i don't think it was as much making it up as they went along as it was shyt happened and it wasn't as deep as the fans hoped for. its basically like the rule of cool but some of the time they revisited stuff and added to it to more or less flesh out things.

this is a television show there's no body in TV that sits down and writes out the entire plot of a show before it goes to air. you don't even know if your show will get picked up or how long it will last. you write out part of it and go from there. that's why they have writers on TV shows.

former creators said they were making it up as they went along. Towards the end of season 2 is was obvious.

after you watch the whole series you realize that the flashbacks were pointless and a waste of time

I'm not even inspired to give this show a shot because I keeping hearing how trash the ending is.
the few times i tried to watch it when it was on tv i couldn't get past 5 mins., just looked and sounded trash and like they were making it up as they went aling (which they were). i know tv shows arent planned out 5 seasons at a time but it was like these guys got brand new writers every episode and made sure they had never seen the show before so it was just garbled bullshyt

Late to the thread, I thought for sure it would be mostly dudes killing the show and how wack it is. Box Cutta killed this thread, c/s everything he said.

The show is still one of my favorites, but I have yet to rewatch it since the finale. I agree w/ the dude that said Across the Sea was a wack-ass episode which ruined Season 6. The fans were waiting for an episode like that, and Damon and Carlton gave it to us, but it was so fukking lame, bad acting, just made the mythology of the show retarded. Removing that episode and adding anything else would have improved Season 6 to me. I like the finale itself, I thought it was a great episode. Lost always had good finales.

Also, the show had great character development. Someone said the show had a lot of great characters, and it did. Some were unlikable in the beginning, and you grew to like them towards the end, and vice-versa. That's why the flashbacks were not useless (although they kind of were in Season 3 when they started showing us bullshyt like Jack's tattoos).

I still rank the show high, as the journey of watching it was great. No matter how wack season 6 was (it wasn't that bad), it was stll great.

I agree with a lot of what has already been said...seasons 1-3 were addictive as hell...shyt should have been labled as a controlled substance.

After that it was like a drunk driver losing control of the wheel...it was bound to crash.

Like the Sopranos, I feel the finale took the cheap way out.

Supernatural disagrees with you.

Show held up very well for 5 seasons, that's 100 episodes. Not many shows had this type of run.

season 3 which was basically the days of sawyer/jack/kate's lives:island of deception, dat was dope to u? They wasted the cast on that shyt the only saving grace was the others and even that didnt live up to the hype..I dont know how any lost fan could hate season 4, with all the time jumping and lack of pointless flashbacks. This was the season they recognized they had to stop meandering and it made for a lot of WTF (but good) moments..

wait has anyone ever watch Babylon 5 Creator and showrunner J. Michael Straczynski wrote 92 of the 110 episodes of Babylon 5, including all 44 episodes in the third and fourth seasons;according to Straczynski, a feat never before accomplished in American television.

writers was informed of the overarching storyline, enabling the show to be produced consistently under-budget. The rules of production were strict; scripts were written six episodes in advance, and changes could not be made once production had started.

Though conceived as a whole, it was necessary to adjust the plotline to accommodate external influences. Each of the characters in the series was written with a "trap door" into their background so that, in the event of an actor's unexpected departure from the series, the character could be written out with minimal impact on the storyline.

In the words of Straczynski, "As a writer, doing a long-term story, it'd be dangerous and short-sighted for me to construct the story without trap doors for every single character. ... That was one of the big risks going into a long-term storyline which I considered long in advance

season 5 was with all of the time travel. It was actually one of the best seasons because things started coming full circle. Then they went in a complete opposite in season 6.
