One thing I don't think has been brought up is this:

Bernie's mouth writes checks that his ass would never be able to cash.

The only way he could have a chance of implementing anything is if he were to somehow beat Trump and both the House and Senate went blue. Even then, they would have about a year to actually get stuff done before the 2022 election cycle kicks in and by that point, the Republican Party would be licking their chops at trying to take down a "Socialist President". There's also the reality that all these things he promises would not wind up anywhere close to what he preaches on the campaign trail due to him being further to the left than the rest of the party. And the fact that you can't just snap your fingers and expect the entire structure of the economy to change and run smoothly.

I think there were a large contingent of people that believed that he was well meaning but had ideas that had an extremely high probability of never becoming enacted.
That's what my parents said. They're Black people in their late 50s and they believe that most of Bernie's policies aren't going to pass through Congress but he's well-meaning :yeshrug:.

Also, Uncle Joe was Obama's VP :lolbron:.

Like I’ve said desperate times call for desperate measures and we are in Def Con 5 with this swine in the White House. He’s completely inept and doesn’t have the temperament , character or intelligence to be President it’s obvious and everyone knows it.

I think people are so scared of the possibility of Trump getting 4 more years that they don’t wanna take the risk voting for Bernie. I feel very bad about that because I think Bernie really would try to bring this country in the right direction for all people but people are scared that Trump would beat him.

I think Bernie could have tried to at least spoon feed the masses on what he wants to do as President. Bernie strikes me as a guy that just doesn’t give a fukk he ain’t playing any word games. He says what he feels in his heart is right he’s like T.O. :pachaha: When you get in your late 70s you don’t give a fukk anymore and just say anything but you can’t do that running for President. You have to have a filter sometimes and Bernie doesn’t give a fukk bout all that..

never had the path to begin with :yeshrug:

maybe someone can explain the math to me. half the country is republicans, half the democrats are moderate

how do you win an election with 25 percent :dahell:

It's bizarre to me how difficult this point seems to be for ppl to understand.

The other thing is that amazingly, people STILL TO THIS DAY do not seem to understand the extent to which so much of our perceptions about elections/politics are driven by the media's need to generate interest/views. The horse race view of politics is what gets people engaged and sells ads, creates new media stars etc.

Ppl are so fukking stupid it hurts.

1.He is not likable and neither are his supporters.
2.People want to beat Trump and don't think Bernie can do it.
3.Did not try to expand his base and bring in older voters, who vote consistently
4.Did not appeal to black voters.
5.Online presence was toxic. - And for this one, nearly every Bernie supporter on this site was dismissive of this acting like you're weak if you let online antics get to you. If you're trying to bring people in, how does this help? I literally know people not on social media that say the exact same thing about Bernie supporters because people talk. Negative experiences are more likely shared than pleasant ones.
6.The constant conspiracy theories thrown out about the DNC and attacking "establishment" Dems while also wanting those same Democrat voters to cross over to him.
7.The first 3 states had a combined total of 550K votes, the first two states he was pretty much tied with Buttigieg with 2 of those states being caucuses which have lower participation rates. He wasnt put to the real test until SC, where just that one state had a more diverse electorate and came in around 530K votes, the same amount of votes as the first 3 states combined and he failed.

Even if Warren had dropped out and it was just him and Biden after SC. He still would have came in behind Biden on super tuesday if all her voters went to him and the rest of the field voters went to Biden.

I would say mostly cause older and suburban voters voting into solely "beat trump" rhetoric, which from the top down has had consistently had Biden as the answer. Bernie for the most part (aside from latinos) hasn't been able to increase the primary electorate aside from those two large voting blocks, which he was always going to be upside down on. He really needed younger and non-voter types to show up and they mostly didn't. He also in retrospect, didn't really go after Biden hard enough (ads), to distinguish himself enough. The pundits and party hardliners would scream bloody murda but you gotta do.
After SC, the rest of the dems got on code and rallied around Biden as well. :yeshrug:

I'm disappointed but oh well.:francis:
