He's underrated because in spite of his terrific dunks people don't really speak on Kobe when it comes to best in game Dunkers. So the OP does have a point, you and others just don't agree with it. Also, there is a dispute, some feel it's Nique, some feel its Kobe, Dr. J, Kemp, Griffin, Jordan and even a young Stat, so your opinion isn't the end all be all. I know this because I discuss basketball outside the Coli, where opinions vary. Now if you believe Vince is, then great, don't dispute it.

The OP said nothing about Kobe being underrated, he simply said he's the best in-game dunker. There's no valid point there.

And if you think discussing basketball outside the Coli is a crutch, it's not, it's hindering if anything. I do too, and every list and forum has pretty much unanimously pointed to Vince being #1. The only exception is a list by Complex (it's also one of the few that doesn't list Kobe in the top 10), and everyone knows that their lists on anything are irrelevant.

The general population consists of average fans who have casual opinions that crumble when pressure-tested, and that's why there are the few of us who come to forums like this, to discuss it with like-minded individuals who are more enthusiastic and knowledgeable. An opinion isn't solid if you can't pressure-test it, and it has been in here. So no, there is in reality nothing to dispute, there is no valid point to be made, and while opinions vary, this is the one topic that is as close as it gets to a consensus.

I got kobe at 6th place of all time dunkers :manny:

You can't deny his great catalogue of in game dunks. Pick for example Jason Richardson or Desmond Mason, can you name their best in game dunk without re-checking the highlights? Even though their slam dunk contest performances were amazing.

Great players who happen to dunk well will have remarkable dunks, it's in their competitive nature trying to dunk on the best players and do the other shyt, they are skilled enough to beat the defenders and punish whoever one is standing there at the rim. It's a natural thing.

all i ask from people who keep saying he's not to tell me anybody that had better in-game dunks that haven't been replicated(posted in thread). ANd they couldn't :manny: Can you? I'm well aware that Vince Carter is recognized as such through nostalgia as a result of that dunk contest.

For you to say, and I paraphrase, "essentially there is no diputing this", is being narrow minded, especially when you haven't provided proof to back your claims. So all you have just typed doesn't back up anything you said. Like I said earlier, if you think Vince is the GOAT in game dunker then you will gets no argument from me, but your not going to tell me that it's indisputable like YOUR opinion is the truth. Read the posts in here and tell me if its indisputable, there's all kinds of opinions up here.
