Well, if were talking about regular hood/street cats then yeah, they can't really dress. like I said up thread nikkas in chicago were still messing with girbaud jeans and red monkey jeans and air force ones in 2008. Maybe throw a pelle on the fit :mjlol:
But like myself and @ignorethis and @kayslay are saying, there was an indie hipster/hypebeast rap scene in chicago around 06-08 that was way ahead of its time musically and fashionwise. I mean them nikkas was wearing shyt you never even seen at that time:dahell:

Cali and the west coast also had a ppopin hipster rap scene. Ny too, but it's was way overshadowed by mixtape rappers.

Ian Connor is involved with the international fashion crowd, which are light years ahead of any American city in fashion. Atlanta swag in general is borrowed so Ian Connor isnt even in the same conversation as ATL dudes.

Name trends Ian Connor has started before he started traveling that originated in Atlanta.

Name a organic trend from ATL or Detroit

LA dudes didnt have to buy a plane ticket to wear Chuck Taylors

NY dudes didnt have to buy a plane ticket to wear Timbs

DMV dudes didnt have to take a plane ticket to wear new balances

ATL and Detroit..wait what?

Marc Buchanan who made Pelle Pelle from the D. Chicago and NYC love Pelle leathers. The rest of the East Coast? Not so much.

The DMV is weird. Everybody wearing Helly Hansen jackets like it's 1996. And the Helly Hansens they be wearing ain't even that nice. Wearing a $200 Helly Hansen raincoat when it's 20 degrees outside :picard: fukk that. Like you ain't never heard of a bubble goose or a snorkel? :mindblown: Them red Helly Hansens with the blue stripe ain't designed for when it's below freezing. I ain't a fan of 990's either :hubie:. Look like a damn senior citizen who lives in a casino in front of a slot machine with them shoes. I fukk with 998's and 997's though because not that many people up on em even in MD.

Baltimore isn't that fly compared to the rest of the East Coast. Baltimore could never decide whether they wanted to be like NYC, Philly or Down South. DMV folks call Baltimoreans bamas for a reason in my opinion.:hubie:

I give it to NY. NY is the fashion capital. You'll see more fly shyt up there in a few days than you will living years in other parts of the country. :ehh: Hella people in NYC try too hard though and look hella dumb trying to outswag the next man. :russ:

But let's not act like the East Coast doesn't dikkride Cali swag. I'm from Cali and live in MD, so I know. I see hella people out here in Maryland wearing Republic of California hoodies, Chucks/Cortez paired with flannels, Vans, Thrasher shyt, etc. Especially cacs try to dress like they from Cali because hella cacs in the DMV area got money and maxed out white privilege and have spent some time in SoCal or the Bay and get turned out just like every other East Coaster who goes to Cali (i.e. Pac, Chris Brown etc.). :stopitslime:

LA nikkas wear vans with thigh high socks and a ty dye bucket hat

Shout out to my New York nikkas that stay polo down

But next year I'm not getting fly at all
All my Ralph Lauren shirts eventually got stains
All my g star jeans stop fitting me
And my jordans got creased

Like what's even the point anymore
Ima just rock Levi's old navy shirts and new balance 990s other brehs can throw me some brands I can fukk that not Guna leave me broke

Maybe some time ago. These days with the proliferation of the internet and image based social media, everyone is wearing the same shyt. Fly 8 states over to NY and see nikkas wearing the same shyt as on the block in STL. Information moves so fast now that the trends move right along with it. Can barely tell these days.

Breh, we're talking about hood/hip-hop culture.

That 2006-2008 Chicago wave and the the Jerk wave from Cali are the reason most black people today are wearing more fitted clothes, not NY.

No it’s not man. That shyt started with jim jones and bird gang. Not no damn Chicago lol
